Iron & Embers is the first book in the Ashes of Thezmarr series, which takes place five years after the end of the Legends of Thezmarr series. While this new series can be read without having read the Legends series first, reading the new series before Legends will spoil the end of the Legends series.
Tropes and themes include:
✨Grief and loss
✨Bodyguard
✨Academy setting
✨Forced proximity
✨Dangerous hairpin
✨Found family
✨Broody MMC
✨Grumpy x grumpy
✨Touch her and die
✨Deadly trials
✨Banter
✨Fated love
✨Only one horse
✨Hurt/comfort
Rating: 5/5 Stars 2/5 Flames
Her Nickname: Embers
The Lovely: Honestly, really just loved everything. I loved the emotional gut punches I got from this book. I knew I was in for it when I was getting weepy at only the 10% mark. The author has written amazing characters in Torj and Wren, and we get to dig into them so much more. And, I was glad to see some other familiar faces. But the animosity and tension between Torj and Wren is amazingly layered and complex, each for their own reasons.
Also Lovely: I also loved the plot and how the sub-plots wove together with the main plot by the end. There’s so much more than meets the eye (eh, page). Something was always happening and I couldn’t put the book down - to the detriment of my sleep (totally worth it).
Recommendation: I received an advance review copy and my thoughts are my own. Well, I am unwell after that ending. All I can safely say, without spoiling, is I’m hurting. Like, seriously emotionally hurting. While we do get answers to some questions, others remain unanswered and now we have new questions. My understanding is this series will be a trilogy and I will be waiting with my hurting heart for book two.

This is the fifth and final book in the Billionaires in Heat series, a set of interconnected stand-alones. The book is quite spicy and includes MM, MF and group interactions.

Tropes and themes include:
✨ Omegaverse
✨ Why choose
✨ Omega awakening
✨ Designation switch
✨ Billionaire pack
✨ Mate bonds
✨ Who did this
✨ Large pack

Rating: 4/5 Stars 3/5 Flames

The Lovely: I enjoyed the story and how we got some conclusions related to the designation switches explored in prior books. This concept was new to me and posed some interesting questions. I also liked the FMC’s relationship, in particular, with the other pack member who experienced designation switches.

The Mundane: I struggled to get into this story - the beginning felt a bit light and fluffy to me. By about the 40%, when we meet and get to know X, I found myself engaged in the story.

Recommendation: I received an advance review copy and my thoughts are my own. This is ultimately a romance focused sweet story that was a fun read. I’ve read these books out of order and I do think I’ll go back to read the few I missed. If you like billionaire romance but in an omegaverse world, I think you would like this series.

This is the second book in the Cursed Bonds series, a why choose epic fantasy romance. Tropes and themes include slowburn, why choose, dragons, banter, bada$$ FMC, grumpy MMCs, hurt/comfort/angst, past trauma and forced proximity. As this is a dark-ish, and spicy book (including MF, MM and MFM, please pay close attention to content warnings. I received an advance review copy and my thoughts are my own.
Tropes and themes include:
✨Light v. dark
✨Why choose
✨Dragons
✨Bonded mates
✨Banter
✨Bada$$ FMC
✨Grumpy MMC
✨Hurt/comfort/angst
✨Grief/loss
Rating: 5/5 Stars 3/5 Flames
Nicknames: Nivale, Little Flame, Domina
The Lovely: I sobbed - full on sobbed - at one point. And cried at other points. Wow this was an emotional roller coaster that I didn’t want to end. I love the relationships between the characters and how we see them grow beautifully over the course of the book (really, the duology). All three are struggling - with loss, with fear - and it hurt sometimes to experience it along with them.
Also Lovely: I also loved the world building, which is rooted in Slavic lore and mythology. There are dragons and monstrous, deadly creatures interwoven within a unique magic system. Even some of the names and words are other-worldly (with definitions provided), which led to an immersive experience.
Recommendation: This duology broke my heart, put it back together and then repeated the process several more times for good measure. I love a book that makes me feel and this book did that in an over the top manner. If you like why choose fantasy romance with a small group (two Ms, one F) with an intricate but understandable world, I think you would like this book.

This is the first book in the Nocturne Vampire Clan series, a paranormal romance (with dark romance elements) about a vampire hunter who becomes what she’s hunted. As always, check content warnings, especially those for gore/violence and spice (all scenes are M/F).
Tropes and themes include:
✨ Enemies to lovers
✨ Family feuds
✨ Vampire slayer FMC
✨ Vampire MMCs
✨ Why choose
✨ Shadow daddy
Rating: 4/5 Stars 3/5 Flames
Nicknames: Silver, Vicious, Little Slayer
The Lovely: I loved the twists and turns of the storyline - I frequently had no idea what was coming next. This was a crazy fun, fast paced adventure that made for an enjoyable read.
The Mundane: I struggled with the relationship between the main characters, especially the FMC and one of the MMCs. It never really felt like, to me, they had an emotional connection - it was all lust.
Recommendation: Thank you to R&R Book Tours and the author for the eARC. My thoughts are my own. The story ends on a sort of not-exactly-a-cliffhanger but not a HEA either (which I wouldn’t expect it to since it’s the first book in the series). I would read the next book for the trill ride and the hope we see more of an emotional connection between the FMC and all the MMCs. If you like a paranormal, vampire romance with a twisty plot and elements of dark romance, this book is for you.

This is the first book in the Everlasting Possession duet, a dark fantasy and dark romance about a vampire and the woman he’s obsessed with. There are numerous very dark elements to this story, as well as elements common to dark romance, so this is a strong suggestion to read the trigger warnings. I received an advance review copy and my thoughts are my own.
Tropes and themes include:
✨ Light vs dark
✨ Masked MMC
✨ Shadow daddy
✨ Feminine rage
✨ Hurt/comfort
✨ Vampires & witches
✨ Praise
✨ Forehead kisses
✨ Obsessed, possessive and unhinged MMC
Rating: 4.5/5 Stars 4/5 Flames
Nicknames: Angel and Sweet Girl
The Lovely: I loved this book for how different it was from what I expected. The first duet in this world featured an obsessed, stalker vampire and I was curious as to if and how this duet would be different. Worry not - this masked stalker has his own brand of possessive energy. I love that in spite of how unhinged he was, he still was caring and wanted to comfort her. He never acted like he was superior to her but instead worshiped her as his.
Also Lovely: I also loved how complex the FMC was and seeing her struggle not only with the MMC but with her own self as well. She’s not straight forward, which made her, and the story, more interesting and layered. From the first few chapter I couldn’t put this down and had to know how their relationship would develop.
Recommendation: Well after that absolute cliff of an ending, I’m worried for these characters in book two (expected release fall 2025). While I saw part of the ending coming, I definitely didn’t foresee the final scenes around the FMC. This left me with so many questions and worries, as I’ve come to expect, and love, from this author.

This is the first book in the Tales of the Forgotten Fae duology, a fae romantasy about a woman required to give up her future to serve her family and king. There are some spicy scenes in the first half of the book.
Tropes and themes include:
✨ Secret order
✨ Love triangle
✨ One bed
✨ Academia/training vibes
✨ Fated mates
✨ Found family
✨ Magic discovery
✨ Single first person POV
Rating: 4/5 Stars 2/5 Flames
The Lovely: I loved the characters - all of those making up the FMC’s new “found family.” Each person is so unique, both in terms of skills and personalities. I was not prepared for the love triable but I thought it was handled well.
The Mundane: I struggled with the pacing and narrations of the book as there were a lot of length inner monologues that I felt slowed the pace of the story. Even when there were other characters around, affording the opportunity for dialogue, we still heart the FMC’s thoughts on what was happening.
Recommendation: I received an advance review copy and my thoughts are my own. The flow of the story was unique - the first 40%ish read more like a romance set in fantasy lands and the remainder was fantasy with some romantic tension. I enjoyed where the story was going, just not the slow pace of most of the narration. The story piqued my interest and I will likely read book two when it releases.

This is the third and final book in the Living Legend series, a fantasy romance about gods and angels where the lines between good and evil are blurred. There are numerous very dark elements to this story so please read the trigger warnings.

Tropes and themes include:
✨Light vs dark
✨Banter
✨Hurt/comfort
✨Mental health rep
✨Found family
✨Touch him and die

Rating: 4.5/5 Stars 3/5 Flames

The Lovely: I love Dani and Nick individually but love their relationship even more. Their lives are messy and their feelings/emotions are messy, which combine to make this feel complicated and real. I love a book where the characters struggle and emotions are felt, and this book fits the bill on both counts.

Recommendation: I received an advance review copy and my thoughts are my own. Twists and turns abound, my friends, non-stop. Paired with some steamy spice, this book never lets up. We got answers to all the questions and resolutions about some of the side characters 😉. If you are ready for an emotionally charged spicy romantasy that’s now a completed trilogy, look no further.

This is the first book in The Eerie series, an adult paranormal romance with wolf shifters and other paranormal creatures. There is a fair amount of detailed spicy scenes in the last third of the book.

Tropes and themes include:
✨Why choose
✨Fairytale inspired
✨Lost memories
✨Possessive MMCs
✨Slowburn
✨Found family
✨Mystery
✨Forced proximity
✨Small town
✨Touch her & die

Rating: 4.5/5 Stars 3/5 Flames

The Lovely: I loved the whole premise and plot of this story, especially the underlying mystery as it developed. Much life the FMC, I wasn’t sure why she was being targeted and I so wanted to figure it out, I also really enjoyed the pack as whole and would like to spend more time with them (together).

The Mundane: My only hang up with this story was many times the pacing felt a bit slow. I think part of this was due to the length of the book, and part was due to the FMC’s inner monologues. The interesting plot though helped to mitigate the pacing and I ever really felt bored.

Recommendation: This does end on a pretty big cliffhanger and u have a bone to pick with a certain character. The next book is due to be released in early 2025 and I will definitely be continuing this series, as well as reading other books by these authors.

This is a prequel story to the Broken Omegas series, a collection of contemporary omegaverse standalones. While it can be read in any order. I would read this book immediately before Marigold Run as the stories are a bit more related. There is detailed spice (mm, mf and group), as well as dark elements, so please check the content warnings.

Tropes and themes include:
✨why choose
✨omegaverse
✨alphahole
✨knotting
✨female alpha
✨male omega
✨prior trauma
✨naive omega

Rating: 4/5 Stars 4/Flames

The Lovely: This book was intriguing to me in several levels - a prequel, a male omega, and a female alpha (as well as two male alphas). In addition, it’s related to a MC from the last book in the series. There aren’t many (recent) books with male omegas so I found that refreshing to read. Same goes with the female alpha. I also enjoyed the male omega and his positive spin on the world. While not a total baddie like some of the other omegas, he was absolutely protective of those he cared about.

The Mundane: I felt like the issue of how the omega was taken, and what happened to his sister, was never really resolved. After he told his alpha, and was rightfully angry, we detoured to the alpha’s past and never circled back to the two men who perpetrated his abduction, which I was a bit bummed about.

Recommendation: I received an advance review copy and my thoughts are my own. This series is one if my two favorite omegaverse series of all time and now I’m once again caught up on all the available books in the series. There will be a sort of spin of series, Black Market, coming up next from the author, with book one releasing in April.

This is the second book in the Gods from Oblivion series, a dark fantasy romance about a human woman (with magic) in a world of gods, elves and fae. There are numerous very dark elements to this story, as well as a few spice scenes, so please read the trigger warnings.
Tropes and themes include:
✨Shadow daddy & mommy
✨Love triangle
✨Antihero FMC
✨(Almost) everyone is morally gray
✨Possessive & overprotective MMC
✨Political intrigue
Rating: 4/5 Stars 2/5 Flames
The Lovely: I love the MMC, Death, not only because he’s a shadow daddy (duh) but for how imperfect he is when it comes to the FMC. You can tell from his POVs he does love and care for her, genuinely does, and wants to protect her. But, he’s absolutely horrid in how he shows her those feelings, still driving her away. I love the tension this creates between the two.
The Mundane: This second book felt like a very different vibe from the first book. Book one was full of angst and trauma, with a good heap of romance, whereas book two felt lighter on the romance and didn’t pack the emotional punch. I can see one reason for this but can’t elaborate without spoiling. I’m hoping in book three we return to that emotional romance that I loved book one for.
Recommendation: I received an advance review copy and my thoughts are my own. Well, the FMC is still a ball of fire and possibly even more angry than before. I definitely wasn’t expecting the final twist at the ending and I have a fair amount of rage at a certain character for continuing to keep secrets. Like, really, this could have been prevented buddy. Ugh. I am anxious to see how the “situation” is fixed, hopefully in book three.
