This is a prequel story to the Broken Omegas series, a collection of contemporary omegaverse standalones. While it can be read in any order. I would read this book immediately before Marigold Run as the stories are a bit more related. There is detailed spice (mm, mf and group), as well as dark elements, so please check the content warnings.

The Lovely: This book was intriguing to me in several levels - a prequel, a male omega, and a female alpha (as well as two male alphas). In addition, it’s related to a MC from the last book in the series. There aren’t many (recent) books with male omegas so I found that refreshing to read. Same goes with the female alpha. I also enjoyed the male omega and his positive spin on the world. While not a total baddie like some of the other omegas, he was absolutely protective of those he cared about.

The Mundane: I felt like the issue of how the omega was taken, and what happened to his sister, was never really resolved. After he told his alpha, and was rightfully angry, we detoured to the alpha’s past and never circled back to the two men who perpetrated his abduction, which I was a bit bummed about.

Recommendation: I received an advance review copy and my thoughts are my own. This series is one if my two favorite omegaverse series of all time and now I’m once again caught up on all the available books in the series. There will be a sort of spin of series, Black Market, coming up next from the author, with book one releasing in April.
