I've gotten slightly addicted to this series. There's something about it that just keeps me reading and because all of them are quick reads, it's easy to just power through them. However, while this one was the normal quick and fluffy read that I'm coming to expect from this series, it got incredibly annoying!

Yes Mia is usually a slightly immature heroine but that's a bit to be expected because of her age and there has always been a decent amount of growth so it's more endearing than a hindrance to the story. However, in this volume, I thought that she was extremely immature with no redeeming moments of growth! The way she handled the idea of sex and the loss of virginity seemed realistic at first but then she didn't ever progress in her thinking and behaviors. It was especially annoying when every single other character was telling her how immature she was being and it was impossible for her to change her mindset and her actions. To make matters worse the overuse of "my precious gift" was maddening!!!

I still want to finish the series, especially with the new book, Royal Wedding, out, but I really hope that she displays a bit more maturity in the next couple.

This was probably my favourite of the first 8 books. I guess because the problems were starting to get more intense than previous books. In this book, Michael tells Mia that he's going to Japan for a year or more. Mia freaks out and wonders if she should finally have sex with him in a ploy to get him to stay. This leads to realistic problems.

Lilly is going out with J.P, who seems to have an interest in Mia. Grandmere is still crazy and Fat Louie is still fat.

Quite dramatic compared to the last ones. Makes me want to read the last two books in the series. Will keep an eye out for them in the library.

plot: Mia is a junior and just trying to finish high school. Michael is still pressuring her to want to have sex and she's still pushing it off. That is until she finds out he may have an amazing opportunity in Japan. Then major events happen in their relationship that will change them both.
opinion: This book pissed me off. Mia is being manipulative and irrational. She's acting like a child wanting things her way and if it isn't it's the end of the world. I hated how this played out and they just needed to communicate to avoid all problems.

Out of all the books so far, this was my least favorite. Mia annoyed me so much in this one that I wished I could smack some sense into her. The whole breakup with Michael didn’t need to happen but Mia is incapable of listening to reason. When she finally does realize that hey if multiple people are saying the same thing, and that maybe she’s wrong, she’s too late. The fact that JP likes her is super obvious and he’s just a dick imo because I bet he definitely saw Michael there in the hallway when Mia kissed him. Mia is being taken advantage of and she doesn’t even realize it. I wish Mia communicated her thoughts and feelings out loud as well as she does in her journal. If she communicated better this wouldn’t have happened. My rating would have been lower but Mia redeemed herself somewhat towards the end.

In this installment, Mia is still a mess - which is kind of the fun of reading these books. As she overthinks everything, all of it falls apart around her and she has to pick up the pieces, learn to deal, or let it all get to her and she does many of these.

If you have not read the other books in the series, this review might be a bit confusing.

Mia is still acting like a child in the beginning of this book when she realizes that she is put in the wrong classes, but really she is over-reacting, as always, and I think that she needs to realize it is all really for the best - sadly she doesn't. I found this to be annoying, Mia is privileged and normally has her problems solved for her by the help of others, but she was really whiny about this and just because you think you are great at something doesn't mean you shouldn't want to start at the beginning.

The the book got a little sad, Mia is trying to deal with the fact that Michael wants to better himself and move internationally to work on a project - and it is sad because it does not really click for her that he is doing it for both himself and to better himself for her.

As most these books are, this one again was funny, but as we get further into the series I wanted and expected so see more growth out of Mia and did not get a lot of that. This plot was much more active than a lot of the others though, so I give it props for that.

Mia and I are both on our own brinks. I feel like I'm growing up all over again reading this series and Mia and I are literally the same age.

Mia turned into such a jerk during this one. Stop referring to your virginity as a "precious gift"! *rolls eyes* Super annoying... Girl, you're definitely not ready for sex if you keep making a big deal about that and acting the same as you did at age 14. And while I do love Michael, I'm really liking JP right now.

Only gets three stars because I literally screamed when I read the ending! It's worth reading, but only if you have someone to stop you from run into a wall and cry and tissues.
