This was a really rough book for me. It actually upset me quite a bit. I'd been through a similar experience to some of what happens in this book (years ago) and boy, I really felt for Mia. I was pretty frigging upset with Michael in this book, and yes, I'm aware he's fictional!

This one just reminded me yet again of just how naive I was at Mia's age (and even later) and I could really feel for her. The world isn't as easy or rosy a place as we like to think sometimes and sometimes things just don't go the way we would want. But you just have to pick yourself up, readjust your views and figure out what is most important to you.

I felt lucky that I'd already gotten book 9 from the library, so I could pick it up right away. This one moves seamlessly from book 8 to 9, unlike some of the others which start up with a new school year, etc.

Man, I felt like I'd been put through the wringer by this book. It made me cry, and I even cried again after it was over, trying to explain it to my husband.

Ce tome me brise le coeur à chaque fois. Mia manque de maturité, mais elle est jeune après tout. Mais Michael a raison de vouloir réaliser son projet. Ils me rendent triste ces abrutis.

I think this is one of the weaker books in the series, but I still liked it. Only two books left now. :(

WHEW, this one was a DOOZY.
Not totally enjoyable to read ‘cause we got some real dram in this book, and teenagers are DUMB. So like holler Meg for keeping this one real.

Also, she predicted Hurricane Sandy and the pandemic in this book?? That she wrote in 2007???

In the event of a new flu, Princess Mia recommends the following: “obviously everyone would need to start taking Tamiflu immediately, plus washing their hands and wearing disposable surgical masks, while also staying away from phones, handrails, and large crowds, such as at Macy’s white sales and the six train at rush hour”

In the event of a level 3 hurricane hitting NYC, princess Mia recommends the following: “duh: evacuate. With your cat.”

Meg Cabot is such a gem
