Skysworn by Will Wight

This series is easily the fastest paced series I've ever read. Almost non-stop action or big plot reveals. It is really well paced, as the small personal moments between the characters, always provide a well needed break for the readers and the characters.
I have enjoyed reading Cradle, and I can't wait to continue. Everything about it has been jaw dropping in both scope, action, intrigue, and world building.

Winter's Heart by Robert Jordan

While this book has parts that are really slow, it also has major payoffs for a lot of previous novels. It has some of my favorite moments of the series so far.
While this is still part of the Slog, only one character feels that way. And it's mostly due to their inability to change and grow, unlike every other protagonist.

Another book, another fantastic experience full of fast paced action, and incredibly engaging moments. Cradle consistently reminds me how fun reading can be, I find myself grinning wildly throughout the entire duration of the book.

Every book gets better, not only do the stakes, and action scenes feel better and more polished, but the overall world building and story telling feels better.
Each book in this series, is a small but powerful step.

Wintersteel by Will Wight
5.0
The longest book of the series, this entry does what no other entry has managed, and that's slow down. By that I mean you simply spend more time with the characters, when other entries would simply skip to the next plot point.
Wintersteel has some of my favorite battles, or rather beat downs of the series, leaving me breathless and sweating in anticipation.

Crossroads of Twilight by Robert Jordan
1.0
Have you ever gone to a meeting that could have been an email? That's what this book is. A whole lot of lot of words used to describe nothing. This is Robert Jordan at his worst as, he indulges his world by still building it up, and spending all too much time describing everything, and not really moving the plot forward. Every character has something to say, but none of it was interesting.
All of this would have been fine, as the rest of the Wheel of Time has boring PoV's and tedious repetition, but those stories at least build towards a finale, so explosive they rest among my favorite of all fantasy. Crossroads of Twilight ends not in an explosion nor a bang, but at best, a pop.
The only reason I continued reading at all, was knowing that the rest of the series is smooth sailing.

Red Rising by Pierce Brown

A book that has the same message as Harry Potter and a bunch of other books, that Love Triumphs over Fear. However, since this book is so emotionally raw, the message is told very powerfully. Because you really feel the fear, you also really feel the love.
It starts out slow, but then gets going quick. I very much enjoyed my time with Red Rising, and can't wait to start the sequel!

New Spring by Robert Jordan

A good book. Lighter and faster read (by simply being shorter) than the main series.
As a prequel to the main series, you already know what's going to happen. I think my personal enjoyment was spoiled not by knowing what was going to happen, but rather, when. What I thought would be the climax of the book, ended up being the opening chapters, and vice versa. Leaving me confused and disappointed on what happened next. In hindsight, a lousy thing to be upset about. Nevertheless, it left a sour taste in my mouth.
That being said, this is still a good book. And one should not read it before the main series, as it does not introduce the world

The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson

There's little that I can say, that hasn't already been said. This is almost a near perfect book. The whole heist plot, the World building, the Magic System that has real world physics applied to it, the characters. Everything about it, is just so good.
