A good book. Lighter and faster read (by simply being shorter) than the main series.

As a prequel to the main series, you already know what's going to happen. I think my personal enjoyment was spoiled not by knowing what was going to happen, but rather, when. What I thought would be the climax of the book, ended up being the opening chapters, and vice versa. Leaving me confused and disappointed on what happened next. In hindsight, a lousy thing to be upset about. Nevertheless, it left a sour taste in my mouth.

That being said, this is still a good book. And one should not read it before the main series, as it does not introduce the world
