This was a really cute little story. It had some really melancholy undertones, but overall it was pretty sweet. I feel like the ending was a bit rushed, but I did really like how it ended with the ghosts all staying around in the human world.

This series continues to be such a delight! It feels like each book is packed full of plot points, but they all mesh together super well and carry the overarching plot cohesively from book to book. Every book I read, I love River more and more! His sense of humor, his optimism, and his strong will make him such a fun character to read, and this book being largely about him dodging assassination attempts using a genetic self-preservation skill had me zooming through it. I'm dying to read the next book in this series now that Kai and River are married and the big overarching plot is coming to a crescendo!

I loved Noah's character so much in this book. He was such a sweetheart, and his sense of humor really had me chuckling. I also always love to see a little demi representation sprinkled into books here and there, and although he never labeled himself as anything more than Gabe-sexual, it was nice to see. I had mixed feelings about Gabe. He was so back and forth about whether he was okay with pursuing Noah. I felt like he was on the fence about every objection he came up with, but he still acted on every doubt by fleeing. And he always fixed it, but it felt kinda shitty. Almost like he knew Noah would still be in love with him, so any hurt he caused(even accidentally) wasn't anything he couldn't just erase with a quick apology. And him saying he loved Noah back so quickly didn't feel as genuine as the other love declarations in this series. Overall though, this was a really cute book, and I did enjoy it! The slice level was a bit more tame than the last two, but I felt like it was a good balance.

This book was so super sweet. Sam is one of the cutest characters; wooing Remy slowly with poetry and baked goods was one of the sweetest things ever. Even though it took Remy way too long to realize Sam was trying to flirt with him, being shoved into an accidental fake dating mission to save face in front of Remy's parents was the best thing that could have happened for them. It made both of them face their feelings and gave them the courage to act on them. Remy's hang-ups about his medical condition and not feeling worthy of someone as good as Sam got in the way a little at the end, but it wasn't super dragged out, which I appreciated. Remy and Sam had really great chemistry together, and this book was a really fun, short read.

Well this book was just CUTE! It was a really short one, but the pacing felt really natural. I really liked that the whole book stayed in its current timeline and we got a little peek into the happy future with the epilogue. A lot of short books like this can tend to do a lot of time skipping to make the relationship feel like it's made sufficient progress in limited pages, but there's something about an author choosing to use the full page count to create a really intimate and detailed day or two, that really feels satisfying. I'm such a sucker for a big mountain man who's really a giant softie, and Josiah was the epitome of such sweetness. Lennon clicked with him so quickly, and even though he had a lot of baggage to work through, he had good emotional intelligence, and he was able to communicate his internal struggles with Josiah. My only complaint with this book(and it's a very small one because I really did enjoy it so much) was that I felt Lennon talking and thinking about his ex got too much page time. I understand wanting to be thorough in explaining why he was so hesitant to let himself get attached to Josiah, but in a short book like this, the less time thinking about the ex, the better. I did really like this book though, and I'll definitely read the other in this series.

This quick little novella was essentially a Primal bonus scene with Jaime and Finn, dirty a little sprinkle of some Sam and Silas teasers. It was so great! I love when authors release cute bonus material and we just get to enjoy a no consequence, no drama, slice of life moment. A big focus of this short was Jaime wanting to reassure Finn for good that he was happy and that he accepted his wolf completely. Finn didn't even realize how badly he needed that reassurance, and how much he needed to really let his wolf take control and be free to claim Jaime. Of course, after their primal scene, Finn was the best caretaker ever, which was just so sweet to see. You can really feel the love they have for each other in this book. Reading this just made me that much more excited to read Sam and Silas's book, too! I have a feeling their relationship is going to have us all swooning.

I love Kai and River. Continuing this series only makes me love them more. I really enjoyed the focus on River taking initiative at work and starting up his project to help the non-human-passing aliens have happier lives on Earth. He is so confident and compassionate, and I absolutely love that Kai sees that and not only supports him, but makes sure to tell him how proud he is. The overarching plot of this series took a really intense turn during this book, but I was relieved that it never got too dark or heavy. It definitely got more serious towards the end, but the angst and danger level are manageable for me. I'm so looking forward to continuing to read this series!

I don't think Briar could have gotten a better story than this! I'm really glad I read the author's note at the beginning of this book, because the spice level and action level in this book is a lot lower than Loren, and I would have been expecting the same levels had I not been told. For me, a good chunky slice of life book is really enjoyable, so it didn't bother me that the action didn't start until about 70% of the way through. And as much as I would have loved to have more fully played out spice, there was a satisfying amount on top of all of the fade-to-black moments. This book was really just Briar and Noaz getting to know each other, and then preparing to live their lives together, and I loved them as a couple so much. Briar really is as sweet as he seems, and treated Noaz like the most precious gift. Not only if he sweet, but he's also a huge badass at the end of the book, too. He held his own and stayed calm under pressure, and it was really really fun to read about Briar being involved in a bit of Van Doren justice. I really did enjoy this book! These two were made for each other.

Wowwie, I enjoyed this book so much! Both Reuben and Vo'ak had a lot of emotional growing to do at the beginning of this book, and it was painful at times to watch Roo, especially, go in circles trying to figure out what he wanted. Vo'ak's arrogance got in the way of him being able to see just how prominent Roo's underlying panic was. I had a hard time reading this book at times, as a big theme of this book was the fact that Roo wasn't given any choice in his circumstance. He always tried to accept what happened to him the best he could, but the feeling helplessness was suffocating, especially with his past of addiction and abuse. Coming to terms with his new situation was really hard for him, and even when Vo'ak thought he was doing all in his power to ease the transition, the language barrier made it impossible for him to fully understand the extent of Reuben's urge to run. I thought the use of side characters in this book to help both main characters get their shit together was brilliantly done. They each had their own support system separate from each other, and were able to lean on them for support when they needed. This book had a really decent amount of drama and peril, and a huge heaping helping of spice! I loved this book, and I want to read more from this author for sure! I definitely recommend checking the TW's, though, as there are a lot of moments in this book with sensitive content.
