His Grace, The Duke by Emily Rath
4.25
I am weak for a hard-won HEA and these four definitely earned theirs.
I adored this story (minus the hiding, but being a queer polyamorous relationship in the middle of the regency era, that just can’t be helped). I loved the relationship development between the fmc and her beaux, absolutely ate up any and all development amongst the mmcs (ALL the feels, y’all, just. All of them), and I want to party with George.
All in all, it was what I’ve come to expect from an author who is fast becoming a one click pick for me. Longer than expected, but completely and totally worth it. The relationships and deep feelings Emily Rath writes between her mmcs get to me everytime.

I’d forgotten how much I love historical romance. I cut my teeth on Johanna Lindsey and Catherine Coulter back in the day and, let me say, this was so much better.
Rosalie definitely has a bit the after-school-special vibe about her, spouting ideals that are still considered progressive today, but she’s such a plucky little thing that it still reads very well.
All three of our guys are still in the Dumb Boy stage, though they all show promise for the future.
I can’t wait to see how the Duchess reacts and I’m looking forward to seeing what becomes of my favorite Gorgon. ❤️

I enjoyed the hell out of this story.
I wasn’t sure about starting this trilogy. It’s been heavily recommended to me, both by social media and by personal friends, but honestly it just didn’t sound that interesting. Plus I generally dislike the amnesia trope.
But they were on sale as a set so what was I going to do, not buy them? Pshh.
It was worth the buy even if the other two aren’t as good.
Alex is a walking red flag in my favorite shade and Ava’s sunshine to his grumpy just absolutely gives me life.
I’d recommend this to someone looking to dip their toes into dark romance or someone who likes a rosier shade to the relationship development. These two are cute asf together and I’m here for it.
Also the setup for the next two couples didn’t feel like it was shoved in without context. Which is a massive improvement over most books of this type.
Cindy Kay and Aiden Snow did an absolutely fantastic job with the dual narration. They had great in-ear chemistry and embodied their characters well.
All in all, a great read and I’m glad I took the plunge on them finally.

Apparently 2025 is my year for fantastic fantasy. This book was a great read. It’s nothing groundbreaking- a Romeo and Juliet tale at its heart- but the writing and the characters make it worth it. And I will always take the chance to read a book whose author understands personally the some of the issues the MC faces.
My favorite thing about this book, though, is that even though Silvyr’s father’s hatred and disdain for him is a major part of the story, that venom is never directed at his transness. Even when the lovers are still enemies in the beginning, Brokil attacks on every front except that one. No one comments on the gender configuration of their relationship either and it’s great.
Look, I don’t care how unrealistic it is, sometimes it’s just really nice to read a universe where those particular forms of vitriol don’t exist.
All in all, it was a good time with some extra spicy spice (beware, horsecock doesn’t even begin to cover it 😬) and a decent adventure.

I came into this with zero expectations. I got the book on a whim when it was on sale and I was in a romantasy kind of mood.
I am so, SO glad I did!
I love everything about this world and the characters in it. Wren and Shrike’s love is pure, deep, and immediate. Somehow that doesn’t make it boring. Their trust in each other and commitment to openness and communication just makes me melt.
Not to mention the big scary boi blushing when he gets compliments. I live for it.
I love that, even though homophobia is a part of the story, it isn’t used for shock value or as an excuse to abuse our characters.
I love that the character twist towards the end is handled with respect and Wren’s immediate pivot on learning it has my everlasting adoration.
All in all this is a five star read I eventually intend to put on my physical shelves as well.

This book broke me. So many times I stared incredulously at my kindle, utterly gutted.
This series is going to live with me for the rest of my life. Beautifully written, emotionally devastating, enthralling worldlore…the best of romantasy, truly. I am devoted.

I need more of this. So. Much. More. More information, more little baby, more 🔥spice🔥.
This was fantastic, all smut, no plot and totally worth it anyway.
I am in love.

Short with zero plot, and that’s okay. Girl meets terrifying alien supreme overlord, they bone, the end.
Honestly? I’d read a book of this. I’ve definitely read worse. 🤷

Whoo. This one was. A lot. I went into this book absolutely ravenous for the continuation of the Beasts of the Briar series, and I’m coming out of it even more so.
How can I get so many answers and still end up with twice as many questions??
And I can’t talk about any of them without spoilers! 😩
The revelations come hard and fast toward the end of this book and I’m dying to read the next.
