I absolutely adore Romantic Suspense genre, so anytime a book comes up for review, I have always requested it - bit with less time and my TBR and ARC requests over-flowing, I had decided to be a little discriminating but somehow the blurb of this book definitely caught my interest!

This is a second chance story, so you should definitely expect a wide range of emotions with their foundation being heart wrenching angst!

We meet Billy at the start of the book - a drunk of his tush Billy, who has retreated from the world and reality to be honest! His drunkenness is interrupted when he receives a visitor from his former life, who enlightens him on the fact that his ex-girfriend who now works in a strip club is under threat from his former enemy - an ex, who left him in the hospital when he was battling for his life and vanished without a trace.

Heather is a girl who lives with regrets - and really doesn't do much living beyond eating, working and sleeping. She fell in love with a cop and left that cop when things got tough- although to be fair to her, everything that happened would have overwhelmed any one, so I decided to give her a fighting chance.

This honestly was a little underwhelming read for me - mostly because of Heather - she was definitely all over the place - her emotions and actions left a little to be desired and I couldn't really connect with her, but Billy on the other hand seemed like a stand-up guy even though he acted like a jerk at times!

But honestly, I loved how the mystery and the bad guys in this book gave me the shivers and although it might have had a predictable plot line - I did enjoy reading this one. Last point, though, it did somehow seem stretched at times, the plot I mean and but it did jerk back into place without too much fuss though.

A definitely enjoyable read for those who would love to leave reality for a while!

I loved Jack "The Bulldog" Parish's story in Uncontrollable Temptations, so I was more than happy to read more in the Tempted series, even if it wasn't the story I wanted to read (Leather & Lace, baby, Leather & Lace) but I was willing to know more about Riggs, if only because he sounded like a fun guy to know and boy wasn't I glad that I read this one as well?

The story of Riggs and Lauren takes places halfway through Uncontrollable Temptations and halfway later on. Riggs is a fun loving guy who just wants to earn his patch and just start his life as a brother, finally!

Lauren Bianci is a girl who has lost her way - or so thinks. Believing that she would disappoint Mama Bianci if she ever knows that she has quit her nursing residency - she is still wandering around working in a bar - when she stumbles upon Riggs - which was totally not an accident.

I absolutely LOVED how adorable these two were together - they became friends first (mostly cause Riggs was threatened to leave her alone!) but they still continued their banter with each other - and the affection, oh God, that was too adorable even for words.
But what he didn't expect was the madness that Lauren Bianci would throw his way!

This book is lighter in many ways than Uncontrollable Temptations but that's like the lull before the storm (if you ever read author notes, like I do, you would know why!) - but that doesn't mean that it doesn't have it's own share of heartbreak - it does, it really does and I could feel my heart break in a way that I highly doubt even Lethal Temptations would ever heal (which is going to be a dark book in its way *sigh*)

The only issue I did have was the lack of communication on Riggs part - which was maddening to the point of infuriating mostly because you could see Lauren trying her best to actually talk to him - and that really did irritate me, but not to the point that I didn't understand the reasoning behind it.

I still loved this installment - and I can't wait to get my heart broken into tiny little shards with Leather and Lace in [b:Lethal Temptations|29419309|Lethal Temptations (The Tempted Series Book 5)|Janine Infante Bosco|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1457131182s/29419309.jpg|49677973] <3 <3

Now this book was a surprise! Why, you may ask - for this is the story of Cassidy - Queen Bitch who made Freya and Parker's life hell in [b:Scattered Colors|24481617|Scattered Colors (Colors, #1)|Jessica Prince|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1425483856s/24481617.jpg|44075830] - so I was a little leery of getting into this one! But I am so glad that I did!

It was amazing to see Cassidy's true form and while I might not have agreed with the choices she had made in the past, she really redeemed herself, for her and not for the new man in her life.
Now Carson was it - I mean he was the perfect guy - manwhore but when Cassidy came to him, he was hers from that moment!

Love the secondary characters in the book from Aunt Milly to Uncle Kal to Navie to the adorable Willow! I can't wait to read Navie and Willow's story!

Emma's Blaze by Marie Piper

It's been a long time since I have read a really good western romance (if I am not mistaken, the last one I read was by Johanna Lindsey, but none after that!), so I jumped at the chance of reading Emma's Blaze, even though it is the second book in the Fires of Cricket Bend Series (but can be read as standalone!).

This story pretty grabbed my interest from the start - when Bill Mckenzie finds a woman Emma/ Sparrow, alone and hurt in the woods. Even knowing that she isn't exactly telling the truth about herself and even her name, he still agrees to help her to get where she wants to go, even if her destination is one place that he really should be avoiding - Cricket Bend, a small town where his youngest brother lost his life.

Emma, on the other hand, is a really strong female - especially when you get to know what she has suffered from. Emma is a surprise, not just to the reader but also to the characters themselves. While it is clear that Emma is a lady, if not by her mouth, but because of actions, she surprises everyone by pitching in with everything she could do help with.

It's easy to see the attraction between Bill and Emma, but what was amazing to read was the relationship that grew between Emma and the rest of the characters, which was definitely not overwhelming like it could have been with a wide range of secondary characters.

And I could definitely write in detail about the plot, but that would be so spoilerish of me, and I ain't that mean :P
All I can say, is that the plot is beautiful - the author has a very simplistic way of inviting you back to those old times of cowboys and months long trail - and the old world where men could be gentlemen and rogues , not both together!
The plot is perfect - not too much mystery, but set at the perfect pace, with enough romance to soothe your soul!

This is a book (and an author) who should definitely be on your Kindles and Shelves, especially if you love reading old western romances! I can't wait to get back to Heaven's Flame where everything started! <3

I received a digital copy of the book via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

The main reason why I requested this galley was the fact it is actually written by a police psychologist! Yes, I work as Forensic Psychologist by day and read books by night and I also know that I shouldn't want to read the same kind of books that I get to live in by day. But I find it quite fascinating to understand humans and their behaviour by other's POV because no one ever perceives the same human quite similar. Every perception, every opinion differs from person to person. Isn't that the most amazing thing ever?

A plane falls out of the sky. A woman is murdered. Four people all have something to hide.

Emma's debut novel retitled - is an interesting story. Again, I still say this as a psychologist rather than a reader. This story involves four people - four people whose paths hadn't crossed before but will now - and all because of a plane crash.

How are these people and their lives intersecting? How are the people who have never met before, how are these people and their secrets influencing the lives of others!?

I would tell you, but frankly that would spoil your journey of understanding and unraveling the mystery yourself.

The story - told in differing POV's is a little hard to get into first - especially if you aren't used to the writing style. Ms. Kavanagh has a tendency to shift focus from past to present without warning - this took a little time to get used to! But once you do, this is a brilliant book that I couldn't put down.

The characters are also eclectic bunch - there is a flight attendant who has problems accessing her emotions, a detective who is sympathetic yet trying to keep his life from being unraveled, a daughter who is doing her best to understand the circumstances that she is thrust into and a grieving father.

It is a nail biting experience to come to understand how these people's lives are intertwined, but it's a journey that I am glad that I took despite the trouble I had getting into the book because this jounery is not about the plot but about the characters' responses to the trauma they are suddenly thrust headlong into!

A book that has made me interested enough to check out Emma's others books :)

Disclaimer: This the fifth book in the Tempted Series but can be read as a standalone.

WARNING: This book contains themes of drug abuse and mental illness that could be a trigger for some. Proceed with caution.

Leather and Lace.

Ever since I heard (read!) these words from the mouth of Blackie in Uncontrollable Temptations, I have been waiting to get my hands on his story - and I JUST KNEW that it would be explosive - but I didn't know that it would also break my heart.

While this is a standalone book - it takes almost after Uncontrollable Temptations and side by side during the Reckless Temptations - FYI.

Blackie is the VP of Satan's Knights MC - and the best of the President, Jack Parish. He has been by Jack's side through all the rough tumbles the MC faced, but he also lost enough for him to slowly side down the path of addiction - be it alcohol or heroin.

Lacey Parish, on the other hand, is a woman battling demons - demons that she has seen her father battle - but has never really understood in herself. She fell for Blackie, when she was a teenager, and even though he was happily married at that time, kept a torch lit for him.

Yes, I have purposefully made sure that I don't give away a lot of the plot - it's mostly because me even giving you the barest hint gives away the whole freaking plot.

The lot is quite simple - a girl meets an older man, falls for him - the man falls back, but believes that doing anything will jeopardize his relationship not only with his best friend but also with his club.

Yes, the plot is simple - but the emotions, the emotions felt, definitely aren't!

This book is raw - everything in it - from the drug abuse to the mental illness, to the old/young pairing is handled with utmost honesty and rawness that literally takes your breath away and you just can't help but feel and admire the inner strength of the characters.

And the wait for Leather and Lace was over. And it was pure perfection.

She would be my death. But I’d remember her in the depths of hell. The innocent girl with the sad eyes that begged me to take her pain away.

I received an eARC of the book from the Enticing Journey Book Promotions in exchange for an honest review.

I had no idea what to expect when I opened this book up - all I knew was that the blurb had intrigued me and that I would have an alpha hero on my hands and a wild ride to contend with.

And I honestly COULDN'T WAIT!

Day against night. Polished against rough. Dull against adventure.

Right off the bat - Chase Black is douche - no, I am not kidding - he really comes off as a douche - and that honestly is the most complimentary term I could come up with - but even with his douche-ness there was something about him that you JUST couldn't ignore - I didn't exactly know what IT was, but it was that simple reason that kept me going ahead with the book.

Naomi McAllister, on the other hand, is a woman who is slowly loosing the grip on her marriage - absolutely in love with her husband, and newly married, she is slowly getting a grip on the fact that not everything is right with shiny world - a husband that should have been by her side, is not only ignoring her, but might also be having an affair.

So she decides to take the matters in her own hands - and hires Chase's PI services.

Now Naomi and Chase had a slightly unorthodox meeting - a meeting that starting defining both their lives.

As usual, I was right to keep with the story - It is an interesting one - not just because it's written by a male author (Yep! I didn't know that until I checked Goodreads, AFTER completing the book!) but because there is something infinitely RAW about these characters - and their connection with each other that I just couldn't let go off.

A debut novel for Mr. Kane, it has everything - a romance that knocks your socks off with some twists and turns that you just never really see coming.

However, there are instances of cheating in this romance, which when you look at it, can be understood, but it is a hard limit for me, no matter what, why or with whom.

Beyond, this little snag, I really liked this romance, and I am quite excited to see where the author goes from here!

He may not have been the perfect guy. I may not have been the perfect girl. But together, we were pretty fucking perfect.

My Lady, My Spy by Sheridan Jeane

Disclaimer: This is the fourth book in the Secrets and Seduction series, but CAN BE read as a standalone, though it WOULD BE BETTER if you read the rest of the books, as I was a little lost in the first two chapters.

Mr. Frederick Woolsy is a spy for the Queen. It sin't just his job, but his identity. And that identity per say has no idea that he would soon be falling for a woman who would hate the life he lives.

Lady Harrington is a widow and one who is surely enjoying her freedom, freedom that she never got from her father and her husband. But she never counted on falling for another man. Not really.

Both Mr. Woolsy and Lady Harrington shared two nights of passion - but those two nights titled their lives too far out of it's axis, for both of them.

I adored both Frederick and Catherine really - they that they were the BEST kind of hero and heroine. WHY, YOU ASK?

Because, while Frederick was charming, he also suffered his demons - not saying that he was an a**hole or anything - but that he kept repeating his mistakes, EVEN knowing deep inside, that his actions weren't exactly fruitful to his relationship. But did that make me irritated or frustrated with him? A BIG FAT NOPE! Mostly, because I COULD understand (not empathize) but actually UNDERSTAND that why he made the decisions that he did. I got every single thought indie his head, and thus, I could PUT MYSELF IN HIS PLACE, and get the why behind his actions.

Catherine, on the other hand, is a strong woman - one who knows her mind and best of everything, SHE STICKS TO HER CONVICTIONS. My biggest pet peeve (at least, one of them!) is that heroines get overwhelmed by the hero's words that she backs off on her convictions or rather her principles. But, that wasn't the case with this pretty widow - oh no, no no, she went ahead and absolutely told Frederick to his face, that his actions have never backed his words and basically shoo! *tehehehe* Hands down, THE BEST THING EVER - I actually cheered her one at this point.

All in all, this book was my re-introduction to the historical romance genre and a reminder WHY I need to start reading them again (case in point: the rest of the series? Already on my Kindle! :D)

Honestly, lovelies, if you even as so much like this genre - pick this one up! You'll definitely not regret it!

Toodles :D

Actual Rating 4.5 Stars

Most romances tout themselves to be the ones that have Hero and Heroine who are completely different from each other - a case of opposites attract, but rarely do they actually deliver. This Book delivers and boy does it deliver!

From the first encounter, I adored the MC's connections to each other - not only was it hilarious but it was heartwarming as well! And it is one romance that became my companion during a rainy day with a cup of coffee in my hand!

She was chaos. Boisterous, rule-breaking, authority-hating, crazy-streaked-hair chaos. Everything about her confused him. How could she be the opposite of everything he’d always liked, yet still set fire to his blood with a mere look?

Gina Silvano is a woman on a mission to find out who is vandalizing her cupcake truck - and no one, not even a nosy old lady or a rule touting cop will stop her from proving that her douche of an ex is the culprit.

She is one of the more fun heroines I have read about in recent times - she takes no excuses for her behavior and neither is she apologizing for it. But best of all, she was mature enough to compromise on things that needed a compromise without loosing herself in process.

Rick Boyd is a rule following cop - he is almost rigidly set in his ways - but it is easy to his point - he might follow the rules, but he does with the intention of actually protecting the public, even if they are the ones at fault.

He is rigid, she is free. He cares that laws are meant to be followed, she takes laws to be more of an advice. They are total opposites of each other, not just in looks, but in personality. And their feelings aren't hindered by the superficial.

“Of all the blowhard, hard-ass, rigid, by-the-book, arrogant, son-of-a-bitch cops I could have gotten strapped with, you seriously take the cake.”

“Of all the law-breaking, rule-bending, crazy, dangerous, risk-taking, breathtakingly beautiful would-be criminals I could get stuck with, you seriously take the cake.”

This romance was mostly hilarious, basically heartwarming and definitely well - written. I adored the characterizations and their romance. It is one romance that I wouldn't mind reading again and again!

And if you are a fan of a sweet romance with a hint of steam, then this one is definite pick for you <3
