The Merchant of Venice: A Graphic Novel by Gareth Hinds, William Shakespeare

I've never been a fan of classics, I don't know what I was thinking when I picked this up.
Black Widow, Vol. 1: The Finely Woven Thread by Nathan Edmondson

I wanted to read this collection because I heard very good things about the artwork, and it lived up to the hype. The artwork is astonishing, however, the story wasn't, at least not in my opinion.
This was my very first Black Widow comic, and I'm glad it was, but Natasha was just a little too broody for me. Now I know she has a decently complicated past and probably has reasons to be all broody (the only things I know about her are from the MCU), but if this was my very first introduction to the character I probably would've felt quite lost and confused and therefore wouldn't be able to enjoy the story.
Side note: this story kind of reminds me of Iron Man 2 and 3.

Wow.
I loved this one- much more than the first. The artwork was amazing as expected but the story didn't confuse me as much as the first volume did. I was also immensely pleased with all the team ups/ cameos, I'm a huge sucker for team ups and cameos, and am extremely excited to get to the next volume.

This volume was just as good as the second, although I was hoping it'd be much better, but I'm not complaining. I wasn't struggling as much with trying to understand the story line in this one which I'm quite grateful for, however the ending was either a bit anticlimactic, felt rushed, and/ or I understood a bit less than I thought I did. Altogether, I'm very pleased this was my very first Black Widow comic and won't be stopping with this one.

This book was amazing all the way through. While Thomas is the cookie cutter love interest (I'm not complaining, however): using arrogance and sarcasm to hide his emotions and feeling an unnecessary need to protect the main character, I was really happy to not see Audrey Rose fall into the cookie cutter main character. She's smart, thoughtful and isn't afraid to ask for help whenever she needs it and she points out whenever Thomas does get too overprotective. I also felt the plot ran smoothly and found it wonderful that there weren't too many side plots.
This is shaping into a wonderful series and I just can't wait to dive into the next two books in this series!

FCBD 2019 Under The Moon: A Catwoman Tale by Lauren Myracle

I really don't know what to say. I had such high hopes for this book because I really enjoyed the DC Icons Catwoman: Soulstealer by Sarah J Maas, and I really like the character in general, but I didn't like this at all. The dialogue was hard for me to read at times because It'd make me cringe lightly, none of the subplots really felt finished, and nothing in this story really felt original. I'm really sad I didn't get to enjoy this, but I'll still keep my hopes up for any other YA Catwoman novels, just not too high.
Mera: Tidebreaker by Danielle Paige

What a cool little read! I went into this knowing nothing about Aquaman or Mera, but I still felt like there was nothing I was missing, aside from side character backstories. I loved the drawings and the colors so much; the contrast of Mera's hair with all the blues and greys, which is definitely making up for the lacking story. I also wasn't a big fan of how lacking in depth Mera seemed, but I'm such a sucker for superhero stories that I'll say I quite enjoyed this book.
