I read the first book in this trilogy a while ago and it was strange but still good.
This book goes along with Lumikki's journey. She travels to Prague which was a beautiful city to read about. She again has to face a lot of dangerous people in this novel. But you better go into this without knowing anything.
This is a fast paging novel with a lot of action and drama. You have to like the writing style of Simukka, it's pretty detailed but I didn't mind it all. So if you read the first book and liked it you will love this one!

Second book about Lumikki Andersson (Snow-white)
She goes to Prague for a vacation, and - of course - is caught in the middle of trouble.
This time there's a girl in a suicide cult
And I got a vision of Trump creating a media company, and starting to create news. I fear he doesn't really care about people.
There is some sexy stuff there, so that you know if that kind of things bother you. GLBTQA+ representation. Trigger warning perhaps. The first book was worse with all the abuse, but there's some in this one as well.

I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
The second installment of the Lumikki Andersson series is as interesting and entertaining as the first book. If “As Red As Blood” had you hooked, “As White As Snow” would not disappoint you as Lumikki’s adventures take her to one of the most atmospheric cities in the world, Prague.
The Plot
After the first book, I gave up on looking for plausibility in the plot of this series and decided to enjoy it for what it is - an adventure full of action and (improbable) twists of fate. “As White As Snow” comfortably sits within this frame. It works well as a short piece of fiction of entertainment and adventure.
The plot of a cult that traps many blind souls may feel a bit cheap but it got me hooked anyways. Major props to Salla Simukka for giving me the chills while reading about the White Family and the reporter’s findings.
The Setting
Prague is one of the most beautiful and haunting cities in the world. Initially, I was thrilled to find out that the plot was set in it. However, I feel like the book just doesn’t make the best of it. Unfortunately, the atmosphere of the city does not come through through the pages and it often feels like the story could have been set anywhere else in the world to the same effect.
The Characters
I still like Lumikki a lot. It was interesting to learn more about her past and see how it has affected her. Unfortunately, much like the first book, the rest of the characters feel underdeveloped and one-dimensional. I think that a lot of them have potential but are crippled by the fact that we barely get to see them outside of their interactions with Lumikki.
The Verdict
“As White As Snow” is a good read if you need a quick distraction with a kickass heroine. The novel is good even as a stand-alone, so you don’t have to read the first book before getting into this one. I would recommend for days where you feel like you just need to relax and not think about what you are reading.

Huge thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for sending me a copy in exchange for an honest review.
After the tense and fast paced ride of the first book in the trilogy ‘As Red As Blood’ I was very eager to get straight back into Lumikki’s world and this time to explore Prague with her. Unfortunately this book didn’t grab me in the same way as the first.
The story wasn’t as engaging this time, it took much longer to really get into the story and by that point we were reaching the climax and there wasn’t enough time to properly invest. I’m not really sure what it was about it that didn’t work. A combination of pacing, slow plot and characters. It followed the same formula as the first, with characters being introduced slowly, first with no names, and then later with names and motives. But instead of building the suspense like it did in the first book it dragged it out and left the plot barely moving for most of the book.
This instalment also suffered from problems in translation. The writing is very clunky and awkward, much more so than in the first book, which was frustrating as it felt as though that was not how it would have read originally. It’s almost enough to make me want to learn Finnish so I can read it as it was intended!
However, these frustrations aside this was still a very good book. I loved Lumikki, I loved finding out tiny pieces about her life and her history and I loved that we learnt more about the relationship she had the previous year.

Hmm. Not sure on this.
As White as Snow continues to follow Lumikki, our teenage protagonist who just wants to keep her head down and not get involved in any drama, and in this one book, just wants to explore the sights of Prague in peace. One day, a young woman approaches Lumikki and drops the bombshell that she is Lumikki's half-sister and that they have the same father. But something seems off about this young woman (Lenka). Soon, Lumikki finds herself swept up in a religious cult, and is once again trying to stay alive.
Now, while I did enjoy the first book in this series, I have mixed feelings on this one. I just didn't enjoy it like the first one. Lumikki seemed to have had a personality change, and the twists seemed predictably. Undecided on whether I will be reading the next book. Meh.
