There are a bunch of life lessons you pick up along the way and after enough repetition, sometimes they stick. But then most people need frequent reminders to ensure those lessons stick around. This book is an engaging and accessible set of important reminders from one of my favorite designers.

Some memorable nuggets, but l wanted it to be better. Nothing that hasn't been said before.

Your ego can't dance and dozens of other important reminders to relax. But as the man says, inspiration without action is bullshit.

A designer's view of what's important in life, work, and business. Yeah, it's the same thing everyone else thinks (hopefully that's not a spoiler, right?). Anyway, a fun 'self-help' book, with fun headings, interesting use of fonts, and lots of humble-brag -- aren't they all??

Inspiring for self-identified creators and pre-contemplative creators alike. I loved the ideas I noted through this book and have shared a few with my children. Our favorite (paraphrased idea): 'I don't need to love your work. You don't even need to love your work. You are already so self critical that it's best you just create and leave the judging out of it!'

Easy read and a great reminder to get out of your own way and just do the work.

RIYL: Boomers shouting in your face; "Live, Laugh, Love" signs; Being negged.

Mostly this book is an entitled boomer spouting cliches and slogans about how you should sacrifice it all to chase your dream regardless of consequences. He occasionally stumbles into a piece of good advice, but that has nothing to do with real insight and more about pure luck. He offers so much advice (some of it direct contradiction to previous advice he's given) at some point he was bound to hit upon something.

At first I was like … ugh - another self help. It was hard to get going, but the more I pushed thru, the more I like it.
The way the lessons are brought out was simple, factual and to the point.
Nothing you haven’t heard or didn’t know before - but definitely well needed reminders to maneuver through life.
The artwork throughout also definitely pushed it to a 4 star.
The short, concise chapters/lessons were appreciated too.
