TRASH. (That is not exactly a complaint. I expected trash, but still got more than I bargained for.)

I grew up reading Flowers in the Attic. In many ways those novels shaped how I choose books now. It also shaped how I viewed the world because well, it's pretty horrific content. I found this book in my local thrift store (which is pretty much the entire reason I go to thrift stores: BOOKS!) and was surprised. Seeing as Flowers in the Attic is essentially Cathy's diary.
It was interesting seeing it from Christopher's view so far, but I don't know...I'd rather reread Flowers in the Attic, which I will do..again...very soon.
Maybe I'm just weird. But to me this isn't V.C. Andrews writing. The emotional connection in Flowers in the Attic was missing in this.
I'll stick with my first love of these books.

This is interesting to say the least. I know what went on with Christopher and his family but how people around them were thinking and feeling is another story.
some same this is a useless book but I feel it just added another chapter to the story.
What happen after the house burned down the second time.

Moving forward in the Flowers in the Attic series, the 6th book, written by Andrew's ghostwriter from her ideas, is amazing. Kristin had no idea what she had when she found Christopher's diary. To know it from Chris's side is amazing and has sucked me in completely!

Didn’t really see a need for this second book but I loved it none the less. I liked the ending but I will read anything by this author.

I only read this because it was at my library, and I STILL feel like asking for my money back. Poorly written, boring, character assassinating... Neiderman is a hack.
Heck, I'm even writing a review, this book is so bad-- and I gave up on reviews a LONG time ago.

Lackluster and underwhelming...
I wanted to like this book, but after the excitement of the other books in the Dollanganger series, it was admittedly a letdown. I feel this way about both diaries. There were few new things revealed, with most of it being about the construction workers daughter, her filthy rich boyfriend, and their reading the book while struggling with the idea of having sex for the first time. I skimmed many sections about the day to day dramas of high school children. As can be expected, perfect, valedictorian girl that gets the guy everyone wants. The next diary is rather underwhelming as well, with one secret revealed at the end.
