I'm not sure what the point of this book is. Nothing new is learned about the Dollangangers and their time in the attic. Kristin is freaking annoying. I kept waiting for a big reveal or something but it falls incredibly flat.

objectively bad and yet…… i could not stop reading it. it’s sexist and stupid and clearly written by a 70 something year old man. but am i interested in the lore? yes! do i want to read the sequels to get it? NO

the whole book was just “what if we wrote the first book again…. But then added commentary?”. Why do they think I give a fuck about Kristin and her dead mom?

this book is bananas. is this diary a horcrux? Bc girlie is out here losing her damn mind bc of this thing! it’s tearing her life apart! why did i read this?!!!

christopher is an insufferable asshole, i dont care that he’s fourteen. id fist fight him in a heartbeat. i bet he’s not even that smart, he just has an unchecked ego and daddy issues. LEAVE CATHY ALONE.

so in conclusion…. no one read this book. Too late for me so if u wanna gossip about it im totally down.

ps kane is a fuckin simp loser, let the children black out at ur house party

Could barely put it down. Felt more intriguing, or at least easier to read than Flowers in the Attic.

Don’t bother reading this if you’ve read the original Dollanganger books. We just get to hear what we already know, no additional secrets revealed, no new insights and nothing really happens in this book. Also the girl reading Christopher’s diary reads so slow she doesn’t really get very far in this book. Total waste of money.

This is one of VC's books I really liked. It was nice to see Chris's perspective and to see another view on the story.
