There was a lot I enjoyed about this book. There was kind of an insta-connection between the protagonists that was pretty captivating. But I was slightly surprised by the nature of the heroine's "secret." It's quite traumatic, and while nothing super explicit is discussed on page, it may be triggering for survivors of sexual abuse. I wasn't anticipating the level and severity of the trauma going in. I thought it was going to be more of a lighthearted book. Parts of this read more like romantic suspense.

This book me all kinds of emotional, it was intense one minute then sweet the next. The things that Trish endured were horrible and she suffers from post traumatic stress disorder, but the strength she has is amazing. She works hard to give her and her daughter a better life, she helps other's without hesitation, and she is sweet no matter how dark her past is. Andrew sees her and how strong she is and he is immediately taken with her. He was such a sweet and loving guy, he was tender with Trish when he could tell she was iffy about some things, and he took his time to get to know her. I loved everything about this story because it showed us how to fight for the things we want in life, how to overcome obstacles, and how to love again even if the past tries to hold you back. I loved the family dynamic all the friends were and the Dixon family was just as precious and in this Trish found a family of her own. I can't wait for more.

Free Me is an emotional and heartfelt book that will leave you breathless all with a twist you will NEVER see coming! This is the first time I’ve read Grahame Claire and I truly enjoyed this book! Andrew and Trish were just amazing! Their chemistry was excellent and the slow burn romance had me anxiously turning the pages to see when the heat would be turned up! What a didn’t except was one hell of a twist in the story, one I never saw coming. Everything about this story was a lesson in trust, honesty, family and friends who become family.

I think I liked the secondary characters more than the main characters in this one.

Free Me was my first Grahame Claire novel and I’m so hooked on their writing style that I just went and downloaded the first book, It’s Not Over, in the Paths to Love series.
Free Me had the perfect blend of romance, self-discovery, and angst. Trish is the owner and operator of a beloved neighbourhood food truck. She meets Andrew Dixon when he stumbles upon Officer Timothy Wilson writing her a ticket. Trish is also a resident of Paths or Purpose with a brutal past she’s trying to overcome. Andrew quickly assesses that Trish is uncomfortable around Officer Wilson and steps in.
This initial meeting between Trish and Andrew sets the tone for their story. Andrew is in tune with Trish’s emotions and is able to read her rather well.
Through trial and error, Trish and Andrew finally are on the right path until a monster from Trish’s past interrupts.

Loved how this book approached trauma in both of the main characters. It really showed how hard it can be to get past a traumatic event. While Trishs was "worse" than Andrew's, they still struggled in their own ways. Trish with men. And Andrew with trust. It was amazing reading about these two characters and how they lashed out and started healing. The work put into it. It was also interesting to see the justice system at work in this book. The author really wrote about a situation that happens so often. The justice system fails domestic abuse and sexual assault victims daily. The author really hit home with that. As well as seeing how easy it is for a perpetrator to get loose and find their victims again. Great book with lots of accurate situations

I feel like they just kinda tried adding all sorts of unnecessary drama and trauma. Heh I rhymed anyway I just don’t think the trauma was written well if it was the book Could’ve been better.

This book was perfect. While this book covers some extremely dark themes, the story handles them beautifully. Trish is so strong and is a great example of a strong woman. She had a really bad hand dealt to her and she handled it all gracefully. I especially loved how this story showed that recovery for most situations has set backs and times when it feels like your moving backwards instead of forwards. I loved Andrew and Trish's story, and I hope to see them in future stories!
