Awww, the iconic duo strike again! Loved everything about this one.

This book was okay; not the best, but fun to listen to. I liked that there was dual POV between the female and male lead characters, but the relationship seemed a little undeveloped. I didn't particularly enjoy the social media and police interview interjections to the story, but otherwise it was an enjoyable lighthearted romance.

While I usually enjoy this author's books, this one fell flat for me. Switching between the two characters left me disappointed and wishing there was more from the woman's point of view. There wasn't as much inner monologue so I felt like I didn't know the characters. Not a fan of this one...

I really liked this book. I really like all their books. For clear reasons I kept picturing Chip and Joanna Gaines as the lesser main characters, and there was a moment in the book where fake Joanna Gaines mentioned real Joanna Gaines, and that threw me for a bit. Kind of like in Fangirl when they mention Harry Potter when clearly the fandom was fake Harry Potter so you assume real HP doesn't exist in that world, you know?

Anyway, it was a nice distraction from how our democracy is going to shit while our president brags about passing a dementia test while the rest of the country contracts a pandemic while a bunch of assholes refuse to wear masks because of "liberty" or some shit. And it also made me want to go to Wyoming.

Okay, so, I love CLo. Their story, as authors, is my favorite and I really enjoy their books, but I had a little bit of a hard time with this one. Mostly with James in the first half of the book. I didn't like his snotty attitude about being a personal assistant. Yes, he changes and learns more about Carey, her situation and how much work she really does designing but... up until he stood up for Carey, I was writing him off just like I was with Melly. (Don't get me started on her, she's just the worst.)
I couldn't stand how he wouldn't actually help in any way with telling Melly what they found in the editors closet at the wrap party,he made Carey do it! All while looking his nose down at being a personal assistant. I'm making him sound really bad, but I promise he gets better and I really do like him a lot more now.

Not my favorite. Definitely made me wonder if Joanna and Chip Gainnes are faking their romance which kinda breaks my heart. For anyone who loves Fixer Upper, co-worker romance, and lots of drama I would recommend this, but it is not on the top of the list of general recs.

I’ve read a few Christina Lauren books and did one did not disappoint! Such a fun, fast read! The storyline was good, there were some laugh out loud moments (and some secondhand embarrassment, let’s not forget about that!) and all of the main characters were absolutely lovable. I absolutely loved Carey, she’s so resilient and sweet and smart and I do not envy her job at all! And James; he was a total sweetheart, I just loved him! I don’t want to say too much, I don’t want to spoil the book for anyone, so I’ll just leave it at that, but you should definitely read this book!
