whenever i'm highly bored at work i tend to grab a novel and read it throughout the work day/week which is quite often as it seems because this is like my 5th i'd say.

loved the art, loved the story, loved the stories within the story. fantastic read, I would come back to it someday. it also almost made me sob.

is every book in this collection about men and their lack of masculinity and overload misogyny? I genuinely start to not care about the stories at all which is sad because there are like 75 more to go? or 100?

one thing I couldn't comprehend about this little book is how it can be both pro-lgbt+ and homophobic all at once? it's truly a concern, lmao.

okay, let me rate them:

♡  Cockcrow – ?/5, what is English and words and language overall and brain?
♡  Femme Fatale – 3.5/5, only for the lesbians, it was nice that he
died in a swamp or whatever it was. i'd die with the frogs too if I caught my girl with another girl.

  ♡  Hautot & Son – 2/5,
he literally goes to his dad's mistress and idk what happens next but they talk about meeting again which makes me think about them getting together and ??? how can you be with your dad's mistress, my guy????????

♡  Laid to Rest – 4/5, the ending was intriguing, ngl

overall, not impressed and I really don't know what the hype is all about that guy (de maupassant).

Did not finish book. Stopped at 30%.
simply found it a bit too explanatory and wasn't in the mood for that. :(

@Михаил Стоянов - take notes.

i couldn't get into this one. it was very inconsistent and incoherent. the poetry almost didn't make sense and the writing style wasn't up to my liking. i couldn't follow the main story and just... wasn't a good fit? I'm sure someone else would like it tho.

one thing that really threw me off was the
blowing the fox???? what the fuck was that about...

i liked this book. :) maybe not the football stuff that much but it was a good one, positive too! i liked the lessons it portrayed, they didn't feel push-y.

idk what else to add, sorry future me.

ngl, these were pretty hard to read. here's a favourite quote though:

when men no longer have
power over women, over whom
will they have it?

so true, ong.

i also very much liked the phrasing " Poverty of vocabulary".

some poems were good but others plainly confused me and I couldn't comprehend any of the words.
