As much as this was entertaining and would make one of the perfect gifts for a feline person... I am not a feline person, but even then I expected there to be relatable content. Most of the content was amusing and the book, in general, is comical but then I was too distracted by the fonts that were used, the spacings, and the pictures that were included.
All my awe for the author being able to think of these 101 reasons, they were entertaining and relatable but it could have been presented in a much better way for a physical medium.

One of the first things I noticed when I started reading the book was how there were these very classic quotes at the beginning of every chapter. Aside from being wonderful on its own, they also kind of mirrored the contents of that chapter, for me at least. This was, I think, a very smart decision to add in a middle-grade book. It teaches kids about classics while presenting them a more modern story.
The story itself was also interesting enough for readers of all ages but was still something that middle-grade readers will still be able to comprehend and enjoy. It was also interactive. It exercises the reader's basic critical thinking skills while relating it to the story. It was educational while still being enjoyable.
The narration was also accompanied by illustrations that helped the readers visualize some scenes, another great thing for middle-grade books. Some of these illustrations were also some basic math or mini critical thinking activities that is sure to keep readers interested. Grandpa Allen was someone I could call dynamic and he really interested me. Morgan was relatable and I think she was a well-written character for a middle-grade book.
The story itself was a whimsical fantasy novel that is not boring, touching at times but nothing really heavy, and is something that I think middle graders can really possibly enjoy. The ending of the story was my favorite because it ended in the way I thought it was going to but there was still an unexpected element. The author also added a section that presents a deeper discussion for certain scenes, which I really enjoyed reading.

I have to say, I’m actually quite in love with this poetry collection. You can learly see the work, effort and thought that was put into it. There were some one-liners in there and some pretty long poems as well, that most of the time pulled from me that “OOMPH” reaction. There were also some pretty deep ones that you have to really analyze to fully understand, which I think is a very good way for the author to show her diversity.
I was happy to not see a lot of generic kinds here, but even then they still had the author’s own taste and perspective. My favorite ones were those that had a “(n.)” at the title and followed by a short poem. There is just some thing special about short poems because you need to be able to catch the readers in such a short time but still be able to deliver. Especially the pieces titled “depression”, “personification”, and “mirror, mirror”.
There were some pretty eye opening pieces. like… REALLY. It felt like some of my thoughts were put into words and that is why I absolutely love reading poetry collections.
There were so many relatable pieces that I just ended up loving it. The ending really tied everything together, which is more than I can say for a lot of other poetry collections. I hope to see more from Sara Marie <3 andI cannot wait to read more of her poetry collections.

OVERALL THOUGHTS: 3.5
Can I just say: that I appreciate how Adam Silvera never takes the easy road when wrapping up books, it always feels so… right. It was just what I was looking for going in and I loved it.
I was also surprised with the diversity in this book:
1. Arthur is Gay, Jewish, and has ADHD
2. Ben is Gay, Catholic and Puerto RIcan
3. Ben’s best friend, Dylan, has a heart disease and I think has anxiety? correct me if I’m wrong
I loved all of the pop culture references. The audiobook is just so FUN/FUNNY!!!!? HAHAHA
My favourite thing about the audiobook is how it’s like I’m listening to a friend telling this story about their summer. I was laughing my head off because the voice actors are amazing and the writing itself is very submersive.
And as usual, I love how there are more characters explored rather than the 2 main love interests. It made the plot easier to get into and I found myself caring about Dylan, Samantha, Ethan, Jesse, Hudson, and Hariette (?) more than I thought I would in the beginning.
Aside from being fun and relatable, the book is about being enough and right for someone. And what that really means? Whether or not the universe nudges you in the right path, you still need to consciously make a move to get you want. Which is exactly why I was in love with the first half of this story. There was a point past the middle that it lost me for a sec but it picked itself back up.
This is probably one of my favourite meet-cutes. Adam Silvera’s books can be a hit or miss for some people but the praise I think he most deserves is how “realistic” his characters and storylines seem to be. I have yet to read any other of Becky Albertalli’s books but if they are at least as good as this then I’m sure I’ll enjoy it.
It’s kinda light and kinda cheesy… but it’s the good kind of cheese. (I know I say this a lot but it's true) And would you really pass up a book that consistently brings up Evan Hansen and Hamilton references… among other things? <3

The Switch by Beth O'Leary
4.0
“Never been one for worse-case scenarios... when they happen, you cope.
And usually it’s the ones you never think of that get you so... why worry?”
— overall thoughts: 4.5 —
The plot reminds me of that movie with Jude Law and Cameron Diaz, “The Holiday” but make it a grandma and her granddaughter. Even the "city girl" and "country girl" aspect of The Switch is there.
However, it's actually not exactly a romance if that's what you're thinking. It's more about how to move on and just enjoy life for what it is. I know that's a broad idea but just trust me that it isn't focused on the romance aspect. It actually tackles some serious topics without making it heavy on the readers which made me that more interested. (I'm still whipped for Jackson though.)
description
It still has that wholesome content and endearing quality that everyone needs a touch of right now. I went into this expecting the charming and lovable characters… and I wasn’t disappointed!! I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would??
The plot doesn't go crazy but the characters were so fleshed out that it felt like they were my own grandma, my neighbors, friends, and all that.
Eileen (the grandma) has such a pure and dreamy (but still realistic) outlook on dating that I wish I had sometimes. While Leena... it was just so fun to watch her figure out how to navigate her grandma's life and learn how to just be in the moment. They were both so relatable in different ways... and I JUST WANT TO WRAP THE WHOLE CAST IN A BLANKET AND PROTECT THEM FROM THE OUTSIDE WORLD!! (except ethan he can leave)
description
Underlying themes of letting other people in to your life and placing yourself in their shoes was actually really well put out. I was surprised at the balanced themes without making it too heavy or too light.
I listened to the the audiobook for this one and the narrating voice for Eileen and Leena are separate people that sound exactly like how I would imagine them. special note: they’re british? I liked their accents is what I’m trying to say, I had a good listening experience.
I would see this book being picked up by people who would want a pleasant and wholesome (for the most part) story. And I would definitely recommend this if you are looking for one of those feel-good (albeit a bit stereotypical) stories to take a break from those wild fantasy rollercoasters, just like I did.

This was a very feminist poetry collection about Love, Hurting, and Being there for yourself.
I greatly enjoyed reading this collection and you could really feel the emotions that the author put into the work. There were a lot of original pieces that did not sound redundant when compared to other poetry collections. It is very empowering to every woman out there who is looking for something to get themselves back up. A lot of pieces definitely touched me and made me want more.
My favorite part was the section about the different star signs. There was something written for each one and made the piece seem more relatable in a way.
There have been more and more feminist poetry releases and there is never going to be too much, especially when it comes to empowerment in general., no matter who you are

"I hate to spoil the ending
but You is fine
You is still here
You is going to make it"
I like how each section is labeled on what you are feeling right now and what mood you are in when you read it. I have always wished there were poems books that were like this because it would be so helpful. . . and now I found one.
Some of the poems were too straight forward for my taste and I was not a fan of all of them. This was actually my only main problem the whole time I was reading it. But there were ones that really touched me (like, seriously, they touched my heart. . . literally one tear drop down my eye type) and I liked how the poems are not just thrown together and there is actually some find of flow to it in each section if you pay attention to it enough. A lot are pretty much related in a way. If ever the reader gets to reading everything.
"Be you, even when its hard."
The bluntness of this is not all bad because it actually tells the readers straight up what the author thinks and feels. It does not sugarcoat anything, especially the topics here that really matters (loneliness, heartbreak). This is what I interpreted from it though. And that last poem. . . pure. Just, pure love.
Poems are always your own interpretation of what you are reading. . . practically all books are.
And can I just say. . . the jellyfishes. are so cute. they stole me and sold me into reading this and finishing it. And don't you just love that metaphor? The jellyfish tends to hurt everyone, but inside, they are soft creatures.
As the book said, you just have to have people with the same heart as you.
This is definitely a book I would go back to again and again.
"But all I was trying to do,
was show you that even a monster can be loved"

This is a book to read when you want a light and “classic YA contemporary”. I enjoyed the writing style for the majority of the book and there wasn’t anything that I particularly disliked.
I thought that the characters were very relatable and I found the whole vibe of the book has a bit of an adventurous feel. The narration and writing style very easy to get into with fun character relationships. The writing style also reminded me of PJO (Percy Jackson) because of the chapter titles and overall writing feel… which was really cool.. and cute and sweet <3
The plot was centered around a lot of highschool-y subjects and I just don’t think that was what I expected from this book nor was I in the mood for it. It was a tad bit cliche even though it was hilariously enjoyable. The added touch of World War II gave the book its own personality and made it more original.

I am always interested in fake bf/gf tropes XD
---
Sam and Tinka were too lovable and adorable for a trope that is always being used in YA books nowadays
The writing style made me fall in love with these two MCs even though the plot was cliche in all the ways possible. Their chemistry was just so undeniable. It was a very enjoyable Ya romance read and I really felt everything that each of the characters were going through.
If you asked me what went wrong, it's probably that I was just looking for more originality when it came to the plot. That's it. Everything else was just so sweet, cute, amusing, entertaining, and enjoyable. I couldn't really ask for more when it came to the writing style. The author did a wonderful job.
Highly recommend this to anyone who just wants an easy, cliche kind of read.
