I have to say, I’m actually quite in love with this poetry collection. You can learly see the work, effort and thought that was put into it. There were some one-liners in there and some pretty long poems as well, that most of the time pulled from me that “OOMPH” reaction. There were also some pretty deep ones that you have to really analyze to fully understand, which I think is a very good way for the author to show her diversity.
I was happy to not see a lot of generic kinds here, but even then they still had the author’s own taste and perspective. My favorite ones were those that had a “(n.)” at the title and followed by a short poem. There is just some thing special about short poems because you need to be able to catch the readers in such a short time but still be able to deliver. Especially the pieces titled “depression”, “personification”, and “mirror, mirror”.
There were some pretty eye opening pieces. like… REALLY. It felt like some of my thoughts were put into words and that is why I absolutely love reading poetry collections.
There were so many relatable pieces that I just ended up loving it. The ending really tied everything together, which is more than I can say for a lot of other poetry collections. I hope to see more from Sara Marie <3 andI cannot wait to read more of her poetry collections.
