Everything's Eventual by Stephen King

As usual Stephen King never fails to scare the heebie-jeebies out of me! I liked each an ever story except The Little Sister of Eluria. I threw me off because it was longer than the other stories and a bit hard for me to get into (which is way I put the book down for a few months), since I haven't read any other stories about the gunslinger. After reading up on it the story got more interesting. The story that stood out in my opinion was The Road Virus Heads Norths. What a scary story! I have never read a changing painting story before, but I believe any I'll read in the future will not be able to top this. I won't lie, I had some trouble going to bed after reading this! Altogether, it was a good book.

The book was very informative, however the flow of the book was not very attractive to me.

What initially drew me to this comic was the beautiful cover art and the fact that this story was about a Latina superhero. I however felt rather indifferent whilst reading it. Yes, the illustrations of La Fantomah throughout were beautiful, however the rest of the art seemed to look rather rushed. I believe a story however can make up for a whole lot (such as Attack on Titan in its beginning stages), but unfortunately that wasn't the case here. The story had a lot of potential, but it felt extremely rushed, with the comic making a lot of weird jumps. I'm left with questions, like how La Fantomah didn't die from all those gun shot wounds and the sword through her chest, how de la Cruz was an immortal man, but died instantly without children around him. Either way, I hope the second volume will takes its time!

A sincere thank you to NetGally and Diamond Book Distributors for this copy.

I just finished reading this comic and my first thought was: it's alright. I liked how this comic was about the Red River Resistance, having never read anything about First Nations people before. Their stories aren't often told in this format, and I think it's a way that is very approachable. I also liked that the author is Métis herself. The pace was perfect, not too fast and not too slow. Something however I missed was Echo's involvement. Since it's 'A Girl Called ECHO' I would have expected it to be more centred around her. Instead she felt more like a bystander. I liked the style of the illustrations, only in some panels I felt the faces could have been improved a bit.

A sincere thank you to NetGalley and Portage & Main Press for the ARC.
