I could not put this down!
So many twists and turns, just when you think you know what’s going on, nope, no you don’t!
This is the reason I love thrillers, such a page turner and I couldn’t wait to finish it so read it in less than 24 hours.

Onto The Housemaids Secret next!!

The Housemaids Secret kept me totally hooked. I couldn’t put it down, so much so, I read it in less than 12 hours!

The twists and the turns made me want to know more and more and it did not disappoint.

Freida leads you down a path where you think you know what’s going to happen and then the rug is pulled fright from under you and everything changes.

I’m so excited for the next instalment to this series! I will be (not so) patiently waiting for the release of The Housemaid is Watching in June!

I read this book as my beginning to reading (via a local book club). Although it was something I would have probably chosen for myself, I didn’t really enjoy the book. I’m aware it was based on true events but the way this was written makes Carolyn seem full of herself but also stupid at the same time which I’m sure she is not.
I’m not going to say that I don’t understand how someone can be taken in the way she was as I know it happens more than we think.
Overall it was a good book to display the warning sides of an abusive and fake relationship and gives people red flags to look out for but I don’t think I will be reading it again.

I read this in one sitting & enjoyed it for the most part. Very gripping and made me want to keep reading to find out what happened. You have to suspend reality at certain points which I wasn’t expecting but I can appreciate how it made the story more interesting (? Not sure if interesting is the right word tbh)

I enjoyed this book although I’ll be giving it 3 stars as I found it didn’t keep me as hooked as it could have in the beginning and I only started to really enjoy the book in the second half.
I found it simple to read and easy to understand which is great. There were enough character to keep you guessing but not too many that it got confusing and I found that the characters that we met were fleshed out enough so we knew what type of people they all were (making it even easier to make the distinction between characters)
I would have like the chapters to be named after the characters point of view that we were following (except from the murder obv otherwise that would defeat the point)

I have to say that this book didn’t really draw me in which is why I’m giving it 2 stars.
The two main twists in the book were great but a lot of the book confused me and I didn’t feel was necessary such as the French lessons and the amount of wine she was drinking.
It was the last 10 chapters that hooked me and I must say for a book that has 100 chapters, that’s quite disappointing.

I read this book through a bookclub and had no idea what I was reading before going into it. I didn’t even read the blurb and I believe that may have been a mistake on my part as I was expecting more of a thriller as I was reading.
I didn’t enjoy the book overall but I will admit it was a page turner. I felt the ending was rushed and so much more could have been done with it.

I feel like it’s such a big deal is due to its references to the world of publishing and how that world seems to work and also how the book addresses racial issues. I can respect the book for this which is why I gave it 3 stars however I won’t be reading it again.

To me, it’s more of a statement piece and a book that was made to go viral on TikTok rather than a book that will become one of the classics in years to come.

I adored this book. I loved all the characters and I actually felt like I became a part of this world. One of the women looking up to Zott and aspiring to be like her.
I like the fact that she wasn’t a natural at becoming a mother and how as her daughter grew and she could have conversations with her, they bonded very well.
I love how they had a chosen family in the end and how they found blood relatives.
I also found it so sad in parts and especially towards the end when Zott met her daughter’s grandmother, knowing that she would never meet Calvin and how there were missed opportunities.
Incredibly well written and also so easy to understand as there aren’t too many scientific references but there is also enough to make you really grasp that science is such a massive part of Zotts life!!
Would definitely read another book as a follow up to this one!!

3 stars because it didn’t hook my in the beginning like I wanted it to however once it did, I just needed to know what was going on.
I enjoyed all the different paths it was leading me down and I honestly felt like it was going in a different direction all the way until the reveal.
It’s very character driven, made me a bit jumpy in places but nothing too wild.
Overall a good read.
