A funny and spicy read but I wish the interactions between Savannah and King had equal amounts of falling, love and lust. King & Savannah were attracted to each other purely based on lust and their forced proximity, which I still liked, but I feel like a better connection between them wouldβve elevated it for me, I wanted a bit of the tension of the captor/captive dynamic, the sneaky looks and the slow touches when they start to fall. I think this book just made me excited to get to Hans book because the way he was introducedΒΏ? π«¨
Iβll tell you Savannah and King are freaky freaky, because what do you mean spicy time in front of a man who you know King is about to kill?ποΈποΈ No complaints though just wish the π job wasnβt done directly after that sexy-timeπ€’
Declan for some reason thinks he shouldnβt be allowed to love after what happened with his dad after his mum died and he and his brother made the stupidest vow ever. He seems to want, love, need and YEARN for Sydney but wonβt act on it? But still does shit that will obviously make her think there is a chance. What he said about having a wife and kids being his worst nightmare, FOUL (of course clearly was eavesdropping and heard this whilst coincidentally being pregnant)
Then Sydney, annoying little beg that she is, 8 years since this man left stating you just arenβt enough of a reason to stay and you STILL think heβll want you despite him still taking that stance? Go away right now.
I love when a book makes me laugh, cry and just overall feel so deeply.
It was a litttle slow to start with but once i got into it boyy did I have a good time! From the blackwell baddies to Kai & Scotch and their development and the surrounding characters slotting in nicely, I enjoyed seeing this journey Kikiola took to open herself up to accepting love and not hiding herself. So charming, so heartwarming & so poetic.
to Sal before they even became official?! that had me weak in the KNEES!
of course the queen of slow burns gave us just that but the wait was worth it, you can always see the turning point especially for the guy before they officially say it and its always sooooo good you get the nicknames and the moments of care and jealousy all whilst homegirl is oblivious π₯Ή donβt get me started on schnecke and my german and taco and bratwurst π
plus pluss Salβs bond with her dad too adorable, his refusal to even talk to Kulti despite him idolising Kulti so precious πββοΈ
Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

All of the reviews I saw about The Seven Year Slip were so right!! I don't think anything I write review wise can even come close to convey how I felt reading this book! A sense of calm but so much emotion too!
My favourite thing was falling in love with not only Lemon and Iwan but Apartment B4 and the glimpses we got of Aunt Analea and Veras experience in apt B4.
I found myself eagerly awaiting when B4 would connect Iwan and Lemon again but dreading when would be the last time and why especially when we were interwoven with present day Iwan aka James, something about getting that contrast between Iwan from 7 years ago and James from the present day hurt something deep in my soul and I did not expect that much less that same hurt for Analea and just how reluctant Clementine was to address her grief surrounding Analea, fearing what would have happened had she not addressed it
This was just pure cute and swoony christmas-y goodness! I will need my own Dr Luke Darling please thanks!
There was so much growth we saw from Catalina, from her repairing or starting to repair her relationship with her sister and mum to her opening up to Luke because he actually tries to communicate with her. (unlike the towns folk who wrote her off as an ice queen, sheβs just shy and introverted π this resonated so much as someone who struggles putting herself out there)
Overall beautiful novella, amazing celebration of culture and the most loveable characters with compelling stories themselves. Best book to end 2024
