Quick and enjoyable to start with, Stella and Heath were cute together when they were alone in their own little world and there in lies my bug bear, Heath panicking and keeping their budding relationship a secret rubbed me the wrong way, you like the girl and are a grown man my guy? Shout about her!! Glad it was squashed fairly quickly though but the second he said “can you keep a secret” and suggested hiding their relationship I was done with him😬 also it felt even less christmas-y than the Maddox’s book😭
A quick and cute read to start off the Christmas tbr🎄 Enjoyed reading about Maddox, Natalie and Violets journey to becoming a family.
Violet is a funny kid and I liked the initial meeting between Natalie and Violet, sometimes we don’t need to like the kid straight off the bat, it wasn’t like she was the spawn of satan and she definitely wasn’t an angel either but it was hilarious! Do kind of wish we had a little bit longer on the war between nanny and child.
Even though Maddox and Nats relationship progresses quickly it wasn’t farfetched at all and rather cute how easily they clicked and flirted. Also, got glimpses of the other Holiday brothers and of course the seedlings for their stories so excited for those, hopefully they have a biit more Christmas-y vibes.
This is one of the few books I’ve read where the fmc should’ve grovelled, Ciara essentially runs away - after listening to some lady she had spoken to like once and is of no importance to this family she married into - under the guise of it being a test of her and Nathans relationship to see if its real (they were literally fine up until that point¿) but tell me why Nathan is the one who “apologises” and gives the long ass romantic speech?
Also hated the “I’m an outsider” spiel.. ok and? literally no one had an issue with that outside of Zeke, the family member literally everyone hates..
I couldn’t do it! I believe delulu is the solulu but NEVER LIKE THIS! I’m in shock how she ignored so many red flags worse yet she still thought she can turn those red flags green???
The main reason I dnf’d was how Avery’s treats her friend in general but Chapter 12’s ending specifically!Paige, her bestfriend mind you, rightfully chews her out for clearly being a beg and wanting to continue being with Kyle despite him being so disrespectful and Avery says/thinks/whatever “…the only evil person in this scenario was Paige” NOT THE BOY WHO CALLED YOU HIS SISTER TO A GIRL HE GAVE HIS NUMBER? THE SAME GUY WHO THEN WHEN HE INVITES YOU OUT MADE OUT WITH ANOTHER GIRL AND TOOK HER HOME LEAVING YOU STRANDED BECAUSE YOU DIDN’T LET HIM COP A FEEL?!
the couple that slays together slays together. oh my god what a ride! so glad delany grove paid its due idc all of that town could burn (and did)🤭 i am sat here speechless but all i know is that was a phenomenal and morally stressful series
I was surprised how much i enjoyed that. from book 1 and 2 i really thought I’d hate lucian with a passion! i can’t remember much of book 2 but i do remember lucian did something that pissed me tf off and made me hesitate to get to this book.
that being said i throughly enjoyed it! i think for me it was just so funny that a 40 year old man behaved like this, i’ve seen a lot if reviews take issue with that about all the knockemout men but it just tickles me pink 😂 (who knows in a couple months i may come back and change my rating because i realised wait a damn minute) there was something so funny but adorable about this grown adult clearly being in love with sloane, everyone and their dogs being aware of it but he denied himself those feelings, his pov probably helped because boy put sloaney on a pedestal (subconsciously) yet was so dumb in connecting the dots of his emotions¿
definitely wanted more grovelling and apologising for 20+ years of bickering and the anthony hugo thing felt anticlimactic but hey ho i still had a rollercoaster reading this and thats what i like in my books🙂↕️
Holy. SHIT!.. that first chapter of learning what happened to Lana, Marcus and their dad made me cry so much. But girl got her revenge in I’ll tell you that, so much action happened and still processing that even now.
Very surprised that Leonard figured it out before Logan did though.
This was such a cute, quick and surpisingly spicy (only about 3 scenes) read! I had the best time reading this!
We follow Jeanie as she is now the new owner of her AUnts cafe in small town Dream Harbor. Along the way we see her settling in with the residents, finding her feet as a first time business owner, making new friends and also her building that relationship with Logan!
Considering I typically struggle to concentrate when I am reading physical books, Lauire wrote this in sucha away that i was captivated from the word go and couldn't wait to continue reading. the last 2/3 nights of reading this i have been running on like 3 hours sleep because I could not put it down! I loved everything from our mc's to the side characters and Dream Harbor residents. I got the banter I love in romance and I especially liked how the contrast between Logans stoic personality and Jeanies bubbly nature was never a conflicting part of them building their relationship, yes he was hesitant because of a preivous relationship but there was never a moment where i felt he hated her, just the possibility she may not want to stay.
Beautiful setting, loveable characters, a swoony plot. a++ cannot wait to read the next in the series
We follow Serafina who meets Lucas when she is seeking someone to help her learn to protect herself as a mafia princess.
The Mafioso’s Promise didn’t quite click with me, it felt very disjointed both in character and plot. Serafina didn’t get much personality outside of being a mafia princess who hates being a mafia princess and the fact she loves plants, Lucas on the other had started out likeable before doing a 180 not even 100 pages into the book all because he 💀 one person?
Their romance wasn’t really showcased either, especially at the start it seemed they went from trainer/trainee to flirting and that this bond all happened off-page, for a second I thought I had missed a few chapters. Definitely would’ve loved to see that development played out, same with Nora and Sera, they interacted once or twice and then in the next chapter they are suddenly bestfriends.
