Declan for some reason thinks he shouldn’t be allowed to love after what happened with his dad after his mum died and he and his brother made the stupidest vow ever. He seems to want, love, need and YEARN for Sydney but won’t act on it? But still does shit that will obviously make her think there is a chance. What he said about having a wife and kids being his worst nightmare, FOUL (of course clearly was eavesdropping and heard this whilst coincidentally being pregnant)
