This series is so hot but so dramatic šŸ˜‚  so much bonkers stuff happens in both books yet somehow theyā€™re still filled with soo much spice. And really good spice. The free use in Braving the Storm?? My gawd.

Are these great? Not really, things get a little repetitive. But theyā€™re super hot and I had a blast reading it.

Highlights:
  • Romance: MF
  • Age gap (14 years)
  • Adopted uncle x estranged niece
  • Only one bed
  • Ex-pro bull rider
  • Free use

Note: I received an advance copy. Decision to read/review was my own. Opinion is my own.

Holy shit was this hot. Thereā€™s just something about a grumpy, older MMC that does it for me. Add in that heā€™s her exā€™s dad? Say less.

Some stuff got a little repetitive, particularly ā€œyouā€™re taking me so wellā€ and similar lines. However, grumpy Colt Wilder was still super hot and I had a lot of fun with this.

Highlights:
  • Romance: MF
  • Age gap (17 years)
  • Snowed in together
  • Cowboy
  • Ex-boyfriendā€™s dad
  • Forbidden romance
  • Breeding shmink (w/o pregnancy)
  • Praise
  • Light daddy shmink

This is definitely my favorite of the series so far. Cole and Sutton just worked together so well. They both had trauma to work through, but they did strengthened each other and were so perfect for each other. Also, Cope with Luca?? Oh my god Cope was so good with him and stepping up to be an incredible father figure for him. The moments between those two were so cute šŸ„¹

I switched between the ebook and audiobook and honestly both were so good. Iā€™ve listened to a few audiobooks narrated by Connor Crais as well as Erin Mallon, and they always do a great job bringing the stories to life.

Catherine Cowles / this series so far is my first time reading the romantic suspense subgenre and Iā€™m realizing it satisfies the parts of me that love both romance books and mystery/thrillers/suspense. Iā€™m someone who loves to try and guess twists and where I think a plot is going to go, so this is right up my alley. I will absolutely be reading more from this author & in this subgenre going forward.

Highlights:
  • Romance: MF
  • Small town romance
  • Single mom
  • NHL Player
  • Woman on the run
  • Forced proximity
  • Hurt/comfort

Note: I received an advance copy from the author. Decision to read/review was my own. Opinion is my own.

I have been dying for Conrad & Whit to get their second chance ever since meeting them in book 1 šŸ„¹ I get a little nervous going in to books that Iā€™ve hyped up in my head so much, but this deliveredddd

This is definitely more emotional than the other 4 books, but given the little crumbs we learned about these two throughout the series I expected that. The angst between them was so good though šŸ™ŒšŸ¼

One thing I especially loved about this was how Conrad would always think about/acknowledge Whitā€™s autistic quirks with nothing but love. I found so much of Whit to be incredibly relatable, from his preference to stay home because masking is exhausting to his aversion to hugs/touching to the way he would stim. My autistic self just really appreciated Whitā€™s quirks being viewed with such love as opposed to things that make him odd.

While this book is obviously focused on Whit and Conrad, I loved seeing getting moments with Shooter and Sterling and seeing how much Shooter has grown since the startā€¦plus the Shooterisms are always good šŸ˜‚

Highlights:
  • Romance: MM
  • Age gap (15 years)
  • Autistic MC
  • Second chance
  • Cheating to be together
  • Vet x rancher/cowboy

Thank you to The Author Agency and Ashley James for the advance copy. Decision to read/review was my own. Opinion is my own.

Ngl I wasnā€™t sure what to expect out of the clairvoyant thing, but it was an interesting addition to the way this family of psychopath vigilante k1IIers do things. Iā€™m not sure what the author puts in these books, but I need to immediately start book 3.

Highlights:
- Romance: MM
- Diagnosed psychopath
- Vigilante k1IIer family
- Billionaire family
- Disgraced, clairvoyant FBI agent
- No 3rd act breakup
- Insta-love/insta-lust

Angel or demon? šŸŖ½šŸ˜ˆ

Angels and demons being forced to work together to solve a mystery? What could go wrong šŸ˜‚ I love a good mystery, especially in a fantasy/paranormal setting and the added hurdles that come into play with the characters working together because of angel vs demon and heaven vs hell add such an interesting dynamic. The series *does* have some killer cliffhangers, so be warned šŸ˜…

This is narrated in duet style by Jacob Morgan and Katrina Medina, who did such a good job at bringing these characters to life! Thereā€™s a lot of quips and snark between the characters, especially the side characters, and I loved hearing it on audio šŸ˜‚

Thank you to Must Love Audio and Lyric Audiobooks for the ALC šŸ«¶šŸ¼ this audio re-read was the perfect refresher for when the final book comes out.

Highlights:
  • Romance: MF
  • Romantasy
  • Angels & demons
  • Forced proximity
  • He falls first
  • Fighting as foreplay?
  • Slow burn
  • Black FMC

This was *ok* but utterly forgettable tbh. I spent the entire book just praying for more of the best friend and brother hating each other (which I believe theyā€™re book 3?). The writing was meh and the book was kinda boring otherwise.

And the adhd rep???? LOLLLL I donā€™t even think it qualifies enough to me to put it in my little highlights list below. This basically was just ā€œshe has this one behavior because of her adhdā€ and itā€™s mentioned like once at 60%, and thatā€™s it. It doesnā€™t show how it affects her daily life, nothing. As someone who was diagnosed 10+ years ago with adhd and has been treated for it ever since, this felt like it was just thrown in there to say the book has representation.

Highlights:
  • Romance: MF
  • Small town
  • Cowboy romance
  • Brotherā€™s best friend
  • Spitting šŸ˜
  • No 3rd act breakup
  • Found family
  • He falls first

Who doesnā€™t love a murdery little meet cute? šŸ˜‚ Iā€™ve gone into each of these blind without reading the blurbs so I didnā€™t know what to expect, but I felt bad for how much Atticus felt like he doesnā€™t fit in with the rest of the family. Jericho goes to bat for Atticus and I loved him for it. This family may be made up of psychopaths, but them each finding their person and learning how to have and be a supportive partner is adorable.  Atticus saying his brothers have started mating for life like psychotic penguins had me cracking up šŸ’€

These books each follow a very similar formula if Iā€™m being honest but Iā€™m eating them up. The psychos are weirdly endearing and the spice is great.

This book introduced a bunch of additional side characters with Jerichoā€™s little band of misfits so Iā€™m interested to see how they play into the rest of the books.

Alsoā€¦if Thomasā€™s story isnā€™t part of this series after some of the revelations in this book, I will be so mad lol
