Every Promise Broken by Ashley James

4.5

I have been dying for Conrad & Whit to get their second chance ever since meeting them in book 1 šŸ„¹ I get a little nervous going in to books that Iā€™ve hyped up in my head so much, but this deliveredddd

This is definitely more emotional than the other 4 books, but given the little crumbs we learned about these two throughout the series I expected that. The angst between them was so good though šŸ™ŒšŸ¼

One thing I especially loved about this was how Conrad would always think about/acknowledge Whitā€™s autistic quirks with nothing but love. I found so much of Whit to be incredibly relatable, from his preference to stay home because masking is exhausting to his aversion to hugs/touching to the way he would stim. My autistic self just really appreciated Whitā€™s quirks being viewed with such love as opposed to things that make him odd.

While this book is obviously focused on Whit and Conrad, I loved seeing getting moments with Shooter and Sterling and seeing how much Shooter has grown since the startā€¦plus the Shooterisms are always good šŸ˜‚

Highlights:
  • Romance: MM
  • Age gap (15 years)
  • Autistic MC
  • Second chance
  • Cheating to be together
  • Vet x rancher/cowboy

Thank you to The Author Agency and Ashley James for the advance copy. Decision to read/review was my own. Opinion is my own.
