This is the best audiobook I ever listened to. I think that it was also the first audiobook I ever listened with a full cast. The book feels like it's made to be listened to instead of to be read. It felt like I was reading a true crime podcast instead of a book which made the stakes feel way higher and while it's quite dark Courtney doesn't spell every bad thing that happens out for you. Highly recommend you to listen to this!

This could have been great, but wtf? That one scene really ruined it... Rape culture isn't sexy :/

I'm kind of conflicted about this book. I really liked reading it and flew through it. The writing was so addicting and fastpaced which just kept me going from cover to cover. I loved Ridge and Sidney, Warren is an amazing side character and it had really fun and witty dialogue.

BUT I really hate cheating as a thrope. It didn't bother me that much in this book as in others. Mostly cheating is used as an easy way to keep the couple apart, but I could kinda get behind the reasoning of it in this book? Even though I still hate it, it was realistic and I see this happening in real life without wanting to burn Ridge alive lol. I still think the thrope is used way too much in the new adult genre and it's lazy writing, but I'll forgive Colleen Hoover since the rest of the book was so good. I hope she has some more original problems to keep the couple apart in her other books though.

I really like the fairytale retelling from Marissa Meyer in her Lunar Chronicles, but this one was a dissapointment for me. It started out fine. Most of the story is about Catherine, just having a normal life. I liked how it took place in Wonderland and Jest and the Mad Hatter were there. I really liked how Catherine loved to bake. The food discriptions were so good! I almost had the feeling I was eating the food myself. But this part of the story could also just have taken place in the normal world. It has some of the weird elements that we know from Alice in Wonderland, but they felt secondary and wouldn't really be missed if they weren't there. I kept wondering how Catherine was going to become the Queen of Hearts though, because she is extremely nice and there was only 10-20% of the book left.

So then this 'thing' happens and I was like; okay, that's a start, but what's next? But that was it. It's not really a little thing, but it's also not a thing that should turn a person that is mentally stable, pretty normal and SO nice into the Queen of Hearts. I get how events can have a certain effect on people, but this was wayyyy to extreme lol. Such a lame villain backstory. The Queen of Hearts better has a more interesting reason for being such a raging bitch because this one is pretty shit.

I'm realizing that short stories existing out of a side character falling in love with another character in a series isn't really my thing. There just isn't enough time to really start to ship them. Also, Perry is a different human all of a sudden?

This is definitely a case of it's me and not the book.

It's a okay book but it just didn't have anything which made me actually like the book. Listening to the audiobook instead of actually reading it probably didn't help either. I wasn't interested in the comics the main character wrote and with that being the main plotline I just didn't feel like picking the book up mosto f the time. I also thought the main character was so dramatic. I get how she's young and at that age I was probably whiny too, but I'm just to old for this. This book just really made me think of 2008 tumblr while it was only written in 2016 so that isn't really a good thing. It just wasn't really for me, but I think that if you're into books about fangirling and fanficiton you might like it.

Lovely book about going after what your heart desires and following the dream.

Sadly I'm just too much of a grumpy pessimist to get the full experience though. I really liked the book, but didn't LOVE it. Hard work can be rewarding, but some people are lucky and some are not and some dreams are just unrealistic. (not talking about me, I'm actually just too lazy to actually achieve big things lol). Quotes like 'when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it' and 'There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure.' were just a little too preachy for me. For a classic, where preachiness is almost a must, it was really good though.

This graphic novel was a nice quick read. It has some cool witchy vibes and a very diverse cast but he plot was a little generic. I think it would fit better in the middle grade age range than young adult.
