This was an absolute DELIGHT to read! A friend of my leant me this saying that it’s very similar to his upbringing, which is so touching and now I totally understand why. A wonderful coming of age story of how a young man grows with his idol. I found so many similarities with Charlie’s story to my own story, however mine is with Gaga and his is with Madonna.

Each chapter felt so poignant and well written and I was really rooting for Charlie right up until the end. I even choked up a little in some parts too.

And absolutely fantastic read, and a great insight of growing up as Gay int he U.K.

Thank you! Incredible!

Half way through this book, I really wasn’t sure. But as I got to know all the characters and how all their stories intertwined, it left me yearning for more.

Yes perhaps it could have been given more depth, but I think that’s the beauty of the book. It leaves much to the imagination and leaves you enough room to ponder on each story and each situation.

This was a fantastic book, it was beautifully simple and really warmed my heart. I welled up a few times and although there were multiple silly rules which seemed like it prevented all the good and exciting things from time travel, it allows us to think about what really matters. It wasn’t about changing the future, it was about changing your outlook and your heart. Delightful read.

Now I know this has all the classic recipes for a wonderful bit of chick lit. But it truly is wonderful! There were some incredibly touching moments but, more importantly, there was a tirade of moments that made me laugh out loud.

Yes a chick lit can be predictable, but isn’t that why we love them. Ultimately this is about the power of friendship, how we can all come together in a time of need.

The chocolate got a bit sickly after a while (although I think Lucy, the main character, would kill me for saying that).

A wonderful delight to read. 5

An absolutely fascinating book. If you love strong women, if you are an advocate for feminism in every way, and you love history. Then this is absolutely the perfect book for you.

Lots of detail in places, which really gives a scope of the worlds each of these women are from. Fantastic.

This book absolutely blew my mind away! The richness in detail, the development of the characters, and the fascinating story of Nena was completely perfect.

Moving, informative and sometimes even funny, in all the right ways.
Incredible. Highly recommend. Time to preorder the second I think
