Shane and Beau met briefly at a sex shop where Beau with his shyness and nervousness attracts Shane who invites him to spend Valentine's Day together. The rest of the story is basically them having sex.
Their behaviours are little bit confusing: Shane goes from insta attraction and lust to love thoughts, sometimes he's tender, other times is very pushy. Beau alternates being anxious and confident. Moreover sometimes they seemed to swap personalities (like when Shane giggled).
What didn't really work for me was their instant connection, both of them thinking, after having sex the first time, that the other was "made just for me".
I'm sorry to give such a low rating to this novella, but honestly it all happened all too fast and only on a superficial level. A deep connection between the two MCs is missing.
P.S.: personally I really don't want to read about body fluids just before they're ready to have an intercourse...

The Househusband's Guide to Domestic Bliss by Lance Lansdale

Such a precious story! I'm so in love with lance Lansdale's writing and I'm very glad I finally got to read this book!
These two men stole my heart, I loved every second of their stories and I appreciated very very much the slow burn: it fit perfectly well both their personalities.
Arthur was hesitant to open his heart because of his negative past experience and Periwnkle, despite being programmed to love, was navigating a lot of insecurities due to the differences between what his mother taught him and the actual complexity of the reality outside his creator's house. I loved how he wasn't afraid to ask question, how he was eager to learn.
There were a lot of hilarious moments and very emotional ones: one of the things I loved the most was Peri's personal growth, how little by little he became aware of his mother's lies and how he was so brave to stood for himself.
I would have preferred for Arthur to be more assertive with Mark, their confrontation left me unsatisfied.
The author is planning a second book: that's great because Elliott needs his own HEA (maybe with Mister Davenport?). We'll see.
Higlhy recommended.

Getting It Twisted by Ally Avery

This book wasn't easy to read and it's also to easy to rate and review.
I know this is an unpopolar opinion, but I didn't really connect with Nathan: he was hurt, badly and terribly, he was abused and mistreated through all his life. He could never deal with his past and he tried to cope with the only way he knew. But... until 90% of the story he doesn't have any will to help himself, he wallows in his own pain, pushing and pulling Daniel too.
He wasn't ready to deal with all the horror, but what Daniel could have done if Nathan didn't want to work to make things better?
Why is Daniel's fault if the minute he takes a step back (he had to process what happened to the party and be aware of what he did), Nathan falls back into old habits?
Daniel is not a saviour, he's a man with his own flaws and mistakes and he cannot be the only one in charge of Nathan's wellbeing.
I liked how that author handled Nathan's trauma, his behaviour fit perfectly in this story, but at the end it was like Nathan healed only with Daniel's love and I'm not okay with it. That boy needed therapy so so badly.
I also absolutely can't get over the fact that Dad's father didn't get any kind of punishment for what he did. His involvment in the story felt like an unnecessary drama.
I liked this author's writing and I hope next book will work better for me.

SOS Hotel: Ho, Ho, No by Ariana Nash, Adam Vex

This was fun! Adam, Zee and Victor need to do some Christmas shopping for the hotel, but they got stuck at the mall after closing and they also had to fight an unusual Santa Claus and a horde of gnomes. The hustle doesn't prevent them from having a very spicy intercourse, though.
This was a very nice addition to the series.

So, a lot of things happen in this book: gremlins invading the hotel, angry pixies, rescuing pixies, human hunt and the vampire Queen who almost comes back.
It was a lot of action but the thing I loved the most, of course, was the physical scene with Zee, Adam and Victor finally all together. It wasn't only smut, it was also very intimate and a break from all the chaos outside the door.
As usual, there's an open ending, I hope to be able to read the next book soon.

Hard Count by Emerson Beckett

Trust Emerson Beckett to deliver a story of two men falling in love, making a family and having a sweet HEA with a very very satisfying epilogue.
We've abandoned Portland after the end of The Package Deal and The Protectors series and we're now in California, when the Governor, Hudson Gatlin, is trying to handle his responsibilities towards the citizens and towards his children. Being a single dad after the death of his wife is not easy and an unexpected help will come from a handsome football player.
Evan Ellis is such a sweet sweet man! Maybe he never committed to anyone (after breaking up with his boyfriend years before) and that would give the impression he's immature but he definitely is a man who just wants to be loved and to have a family to cherish. He was attracted to Hudson at first sight, but he fell in love with his children too and he welcomed them in his life along with their dad.
I really really adored Evan's relationship with Jack, Hudson's son: they have a strong deep bond and Jack will find in Evan another parent, a man who wants to protect him, support him and love him just like Hudson does.
Another thing I appreciated is that Evan and Hudson's lives were complicated, their love didn't make problems magically disappear and they had to work hard for their happily ever after.
Many characters from the previous series make their appearances in this book (Preston and Evan's banter is amazing!): I'll never thank the author enough for not forgetting them and giving us glimpses of their lives as the time passes.
There are also new interesting characters who are very promising, especially Lennox. I can't wait for his story.
It's no secret I'm in love with this universe and I definitely recommend this amazing start of a new series.

Married to My Best Friend by Riley Hart

Beautiful romantic story between two childhood best friends turned into lovers.
Caden and Alex have been in each other's life since they were just kids. At 16 Alex came out as gay and admitted to himself that was in love with his friend, but Caden has always been straight and into women.
Growing up, Alex dreamed of a man at his side, a marriage and a family, while Caden, heavily scarred by his parents' bad exemple, never committed to any women: the only constant in his life was his friend.
After Alex and his fiancé's wedding was canceled and finally Caden has the chance to have his friend all for himself, things starts to change and he starts wondering if his deep connection and affection for Alex mean something more.
Sexual awakening is one of the trope that this author handles better and this story is no exception: Alex and Caden's friendship evolves into a wonderful love story.
A thing I particularly adored was that they never lose their banter and that they still were each other's best friend.
My only complain is, obviously, the lenght.
Edit
I just finished to listen to the audiobook: Nick J. Russo was amazing, he made this story even more beautiful!

Quiver: Crossed Swords Edition by G. Eilsel

This is my second book from G. Eilsel and I have to say I really like her style. This novella was hot and sweet, hilarious and a bit bitter at the same time.
I enjoyed very much this unusual love story between a Cherub, who's temporarly working as The Cupid, and a human, a bisexual teacher.
Azrael finds himself in all sort of ridiculous situation, thanks to his clumsiness: a mistake during a job will end with him and Beau strongly attracted to each other.
I loved their dynamic because, while their relationship was evolving, we got to know them under a different light: clumsy awkward Az is actually very determined in bed and he's not shy to ask for what he wants; Beau, confident and at ease with everyone, is more uncertain during intimacy because he never got to have experience with men.
I really liked how Beau helped Az to become more self assured and competent: the parts were Azrael talks about how he's always been treated as an outsider were a little sad.
What prevented me from giving a higher rate:
I'm not sure about how the situation with Delilah ended, but it seemed to me that maybe it should have been some kind of punishment.
I didn't like that there was o safe sex talk between them before intimacy.
I loved Beau and Micah being sort of frenemies and also how things developed at the end.
Overall it was a quick steamy funny story and I recommend it.
I received an ARC of this book from the author and this is my honest review.

Benji by N.R. Walker
3.0

I really didn't want to rate this book so low, but here I am.
Too many things that didn't work for me: excessive romanticising of sex work (Benji and the guys worked literally on the street, I would have understand if they worked safely for some kind of agency), justifying that work because they had a high sex drive (again, not safe, better do porn), insta love between Benji and Nolan (I understand Benji's feelings, Nolan was the one who made him feel safe, but not Nolan, he went from being perfectly content with his job to wanted to quit in a matter of four/five days); also the unprotected sex (I don't think they could have that level of trust after 2 days of knowing each other).
The MCs are great, I loved them and the side characters: Nolan is sweet, kind, loyal, a good friend and a honest person; Benji is just trying to protect himself, but behind all his walls, he just a simple guy looking for love.
The issues with Benji's past were resolved too easily, it seemed that the only purpose of that plot was to let Nolan's protective side out.
I'm very interested in both Fitch and Kylan's stories, but it seemed that they'll both have daddy trope. We'll see.

I loved Charlie and Paul's story, even if their journey together wasn't easy.
Both of them were dealing with trauma and loss, both of them lost their family, both of them were alone and in a bad emotional place.
Charlie never experimented true love, Paul had that, but he lost it. They had different experiences, that made them insecure and scared. I loved how the author didn't make them immediately jump into a sexual relationship, instead they spent a lot of time together, getting to know each other.
Despite all the genuine feelings between them, though, they couldn't handle the truth: Paul was too scared to lose Charlie and Charlie was still so convinced to not be lovable that didn't let Paul explain his story.
But even with their flaws, Paul and Charlie still find their way back to one another.
They don't love each other because they think they deserve it, they love each other because they cannot avoid it: their love is big and strong and intense, it's there, between them and it's inevitable. Their love will help them learn from their mistakes, do better and be each other's family.
The whole story of Trey's death was very very painful to read and I wish Trey had simply run away.
Luckily, the epilogue was very beautiful and the book left me with happy tears.
I absolutely recommend it.
Edit
Recently I had the opportunity to listen to the audiobook: it was amazing, Tristan James did a remarkable job bringing Paul and Charlie's emotions to life.
