The Girl from Widow Hills by Megan Miranda

What a great mystery/thriller this book was! You really get a feel for each character and their personalities in this book. Why cant the past stay in the past? Arden, who changed her name to Olivia in adulthood has been trying to get away from her past and live a normal life. That is until her past catches up with her, but in the worst way possible. This book took me on a rollercoaster! You find yourself asking if Olivia can truly trust anyone in her life. The twists and the turns lead to an ending I didn’t expect. If you’re looking for an interesting MC background, twists and turns, and an unexpected ending this book may just be for you! Megan Miranda’s writing keeps you hooked as the story flows. I have read other books by her and have enjoyed them all!

This was my FAVOURITE read of the year (so far!) What a POWERFUL read. I held off on reading this one as there was so much Hype around it and did not want to disappoint myself if I felt it wasn’t worth it. I was so so wrong. I did struggle for the first few chapters thinking that it wasn’t going to be as good as it was mentioned to be, but as I kept going I noticed how much that background information was required for the rest of the beautiful and sad story to play out. Many of the societal issues and problems raised in this book still exist today which just breaks my heart. It opens your eyes to preconceived judgements, isolation and how that impacts behaviour, and the power of love- friendship and romantic. If this is on your TBR I could not recommend a more amazing book!
