Knjiga je oličenje izraza "no plot, just vibes". Doslovno, radi se o vibracijama.
Vidi se da je ovo roman prvijenac, prvenstveno po nepotrebno dugim rečenicama, a zatim i po eksperimentiranju sa znanstvenom i stručnom terminologijom. Priča je intrigantna i usprkos autorovoj pretencioznosti uvlači te u misterij. Prema kraju sve počinje gubiti smisao, ali tek kad završiš s čitanjem shvatiš da je to i bila namjera.

Is it based on a TED talk and thus a little basic? Yes. Is it a good entry point to feminism that summarizes the crucial points? Also yes.
I especially like the argument about the word "feminist" and why is important not to stop using it.

Yes, this is the kind of poetry I understand. And I absolutely love it. This is actually very smart nature writing. I could read it on and on and can't wait to get to the other books in the collection.

I didin't expect it to be from the Pew's perspective but this choice made it so much more interesting. This was such a good premise and Lacey executed it perfectly. It will make you question things.

This was a mish-mash but there were valuable parts. It's a collection of essays and other writings by various authors. Some pieces were hits, other misses, and I think it's because it's trying to be everything in one volume, from science theory to activist cookbook with a sprinkle of poetry. The best parts were the chapter introductions by the main author and editor, and those expended would be enough for a great book. I annotated some parts and skipped some, so...

Priče čudnih zapleta i još čudnijih svršetaka. Asjina mašta veća je od ovog svijeta ali i dalje ga nastavlja temeljito secirati. Vidljiva je inspiracija u svakodnevici iz koje proizlazi kritika današnjeg društva. Asja uzima obične situacije koje provlači kroz neočekivane scenarije i pretvara ih u groteske. 
Voljela bih da su likovi, iz čije perspektive autorica pripovijeda, uvjerljiviji. Npr. fizičarka koja radi na vremeplovu neuvjerljiva je kao znanstvenica. Isto tako, različite protagonistice imaju vrlo sličan ton naracije.
Ukratko, zabavno štivo čijim likovima nedostaje mrvica karaktera.

This is a novel told through connected stories or anecdotes in which we follow Polish girl's coming of age during the 80s. I guess I'm a sucker for narative told through 10 year old girl's perspective with a dose of snarky humour. And it's in a rural setting with hints of political happenings in the background? Sign me up! 
It was well written. Light and simple. You get selected bits and pieces that paint a larger picture. And I was just immersed in this world.

I haven't understood the majority of this book. This is high philosophy for me but I'm glad I challenged myself with it. In order to understand what the author is talking about one needs to have a rich background not only in philosophy but also in the cultural and societal happenings during the mid 20th century to 80s. There are footnotes written by both author and translator but still there are multiple references without notes like it's implied you know what he's talking about. There are even whole chapters about specific books or movies but the author just goes in without explaining what is the work about. The whole book is like the author's stream of consciousness, very meandering and unpolished, which I don't like in nonfiction books. However, I don't read much philosophy so maybe they are all like that.
Will return to this someday with hopefully more background.
