Take a Chance on Me by Jill Mansell

I started out a little confused in the beginning of this book. There were a lot of different characters and I found it difficult to pick apart what was happening and how they were all connected.

By 1/3 of the way through though, I really started to warm to it. I knew the characters and felt an attachment. I wanted to know what was going to happen.

Overall the book was a little predictable but there doesn’t always have to be a twist! It was a beautiful, very easy to read story with multiple love stories within it.

Perfect for a cosy weekend, I would recommend!

I’m annoyed with myself that I couldn’t follow this book with my seemingly limited imagination, resulting in a 2 star rating!!

I found the characters and humour funny and interesting at the time but I never seemed to follow it on through to the next paragraphs and I got lost very easily on what was happening, who was who and where we were!?

I’m not sure if it’s this book, Terry or that fantasy just isn’t my thing!? I’ll try another and see if I feel any different...

Another fantastic book in this series by Lindsey Kelk. We discovered even more drama and dimensions to Angela’s relationships! I was hooked from the beginning and struggled to put it down.

Thoroughly enjoyed and very excited for the next one! Never want the series to end!!

I read this book in one day. The writing style and pace was perfect to keep me hooked.

The story starts with two storylines; Ruby and Beth. These two separate women have very different lives, both equally as fascinating and gripping.

About 80% of the way through the Beth and Ruby’s storylines begin to merge together and all the connections throughout become clear.

Both Ruby and Beth’s storylines touch on very interesting topics which really makes you put things into perspective. There are some beautiful poignant moments which really make you reflect. The golden thread message throughout is wonderful and uplifting.

I will not say anymore as I don’t want to ruin the experience for other readers other than I would definitely recommend this book!

I haven’t read too many dystopian novels but this is fascinating. Written incredibly well it draws you in from the very beginning. I can’t believe it’s taken my this long to get to it!

Such an interesting concept, which doesn’t, in all honestly, seem that far fetched at all.

The story follows one woman on her journey in this society, her feelings, the politics and punishments. There are flash backs from the ‘olden days’ which I think works really well to add perspective and make you reflect!

Would recommend this book!

I wasn’t sure if I was going to enjoy this one but I surprised myself.

It touches on a topic which is still very relevant even today and is written very well.

I would recommend this, even if you don’t normally like classics.

I had high hopes for this book, the synopsis was intriguing and I liked the overall premise.

Unfortunately the entire story fell flat and I’m left with more questions now than before I started.

Very disappointed. I felt no attachment to the characters and it almost felt like the author got distracted and lost the main plot of the story. The book itself was very slow which I had hoped was leading up to something...

However, I am no clearer on who the miniaturist is or what the point of it all was!

1 star out of 5!

I enjoyed this book. It was a fun concept and I felt a strong attachment to Rebecca almost straight away.

It was pretty predictable for the most part, except for a little twist that I won’t give away.

It was light hearted and the writing style was really free flowing and easy to read.

The story was not just a "rom-com" it was a story about growth, a woman and her career, personality, friends, family and relationships. It was beautifully rounded off; I am happy for the ending and I would love a sequel!!

If only you could give a book 6 stars!

This is without a doubt, the best of the Helen Grace series so far! I was hooked from the very beginning and I didn’t manage to predict any of it. Right down to the very last page!

It was exciting, fast paced, easy to read, thrilling and surprising! Yes yes yes!

I loved the continuation of all the main characters story lines, I am SO invested by this point!!

Loved it and would recommend along with every other book in the series so far!! So excited to read the next one!!

This is the first time reading the series and unfortunately I liked this one less than the first one (for which I scored a 4).

I’m not sure why I liked it less if I’m honest, It was easy to read and follow. Possibly it was because the initial hit of the story line and the first book was over and the second year of Hogwarts didn’t quite live up to the hype, it felt a little samey and less impactful?!

I’ve heard that this one is a lot of people’s least favourite though and I’m likely to like the next one more
