I liked the story but idk something was off. Ig i didn't like the writing style?

Stacey deserves to be loved like this. She deserves all the love in the world. Sbe suffered too much. Please i hope in book 3 they get reunited sooner. Hope i get to see them happy 🤎

Hauntingly beautiful! 

The book depicts the vicious cycle of the Buendia family in which each generation is doomed to follow the same path, never learning from the mistakes of the previous generation.  The main Ideas/themes of thr book seem to be:

1. 𝘾𝙮𝙘𝙡𝙞𝙘 𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙝𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮: with the example of the Buendia family, Marquez is trying to highlight the nature of history as history repeats itself on all levels. The Buendia family entrapped in their own patterns keep repeating the same mistakes.

2. 𝙁𝙡𝙖𝙬𝙚𝙙 𝙃𝙪𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚:  the book does a good job of depicting the flaws of human nature and its inability to break from the vicious pattern of destruction. The book also highlights how flawed  and fragile our memories are. The people of Macondo who eventually forget their own history and origins are consumed by this flaw.

3.𝙎𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙨𝙤𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣: Another major theme throughout the book, Marquez keeps emphasising on the solitude of the Buendia family as well as the Macondo. The people of the family are almost incapable of bonding with the other people because of their pride and the incest and stuff is somehow a result of this very reason. The same goes with the rest of the town, where they are always in a conflict with outsiders.

4. 𝙒𝙖𝙧 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙧𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧:  Another important aspect of the book. Throughout the book, the Buendia family and the town of Macondo are burdened with War and conflict. The war and violence in the book again emphasizes the cyclic nature of human history.

5. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙛𝙖𝙩𝙚:  In the ending chapter, it's revealed how Melquiadas had already written the destiny of the family and the town. And it was all before them in the parchments but they were so indulged in the fate that they were never able to realise it until the end.  And eventually the cycle of fate is completed with the destruction of Macondo.

6. 𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚:  The theme of love and it's nature is found along with obsession, passion and incest . The book keeps on showing the tragic and destructive nature of love.

Let's be honest 𝘿𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙣 & 𝙡𝙪𝙣𝙖 are the main characters here. Am i unhappy about that? NO obviously. But then what's wrong? The storyline is too rushed, the ending is a big fuck up. 380 pages don't do justice to this book. She could have written 500+ easily and that way she wouldn't have to rush things like that. Not giving Tristan a pov during the reunion? Not giving Xander and Luna a chapter together? I am sorry Runyx but you could have done so much better.....and and and why was there so much communication gap b/w Tristan and Morana? Where's the chemistry? Like what's going on?  Dante and Amara still got decent scenes, also i think Alpha and Zephyr deserved more? Alpha still not getting back his memories? WHY?

1. 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 :

The book starts with Kierkegaard discussing The Socratic idea of 'recollection'. Kierkegaard however himself believes in 'repetition'.  Kierkegaard compares the two ideas and admires the idea of repetition.Kierkegaard then narrates a story of a young man falling in love and through the story he tries to capture the idea of repetition.

Let's be honest this was very difficult, i couldn't understand half of the stuff he was saying. It's very dense. I will be re-reading for sure.In this book Kierkegaard again discusses the Socratic idea of recollection and how we achieve truth. According to Kierkegaard humans are in error (sin) and because of this the truth remains hidden from us, however we can access the truth through a teacher, but what's important here is that to access this truth we must possess the ability to understand it. And God has given us this ability. And then Kierkegaard involves ig idea of Christianity to further explain this idea. Nevertheless i found it extremely difficult.
