Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

I think I enjoyed the first 2/3 more than the last 1/3. This had a lot of Greek god references and duh if you read the synopsis then it makes sense, I went into this book completely blind, and I enjoyed the world 100% it was so interesting and unique and how the threads work and interweaved in the person. I had an issue with what a group of people were called though annnnnd everytime it said it in the book it just took me out of the story like ugh I don’t like this word (cutters). And then the mystery I think was just a bit drawn out for me and I lost some interest. But this give med Poisons We Drink vibes and I loved that book! Would still recommend this one.
Ok so this was cute but longer than it needed to be. This could’ve definitely been a cozy fantasy situation but the author had other plans lol
This will not be for everyone. If you loooove animals and a quirky MC then this will be for you. The magical animals and the world was truly colorful and fun and really got me excited! But then the story kept going lol There’s a mystery subplot and then a side romance and it was done well, again this was just longer and I felt myself not necessarily getting bored but just taking longer to finish the book.
I think quite a bit of this just didn’t vibe with me, so this is a (me) problem. The writing and story and multi pov, I just really wasn’t connecting and we were in the midst of the story and I just couldn’t grasp who was who and what we were doing. Just not for me.
Such a good book, filled with all the feels. There a multi POVs you’re following and some of the internal thoughts are a bit scattered but I think that’s for a purpose, as this is a book with neurodivergent characters. I love books with this kind of rep, because each individual is different and has their own quirks but don’t we all.
The only thing I thought could’ve probably gone a bit deeper was the overall theme. The sudden loss of parents is traumatic for anyone and yes we got some processing and grieving and for the targeted age I think it was done well, but would’ve liked a little bit more just to show the weight of such a loss. But would definitely recommend this as a parent/kid buddy read!
Look here…I didn’t expect to go into this and live this as much as I did!!! It’s so much fun, the banter is a darker side of charming and the siblings are really great! I loved this family! And then we got the freaking cliff hanger and book 2 is still in the works…I am unwell🫠
Super upset at this DNF because the premise had me really hopeful! I think my major issue was at 50% she was still playing “go fish” with The Husbands and not much was being learned. At chapter 3 she had already swapped like 5 guys but for no real reason other than a personal ick.

Took me forever but we made it and man that was a wild and chaotic and fun ride! There’s sooo much that’s going on in this book and I’ve been re-hooked to the story and the characters. I don’t think we need ALLLLLL the damn side POVs but it does make for a fun reading experience. The ending was a freaking jolt to my system and I won’t accept it but I’m also not ready to jump into book 8, my brain needs to process.
Not my favorite finale but man o man do these authors know how to write a fantastic series with a forward moving plot, fun characters and political intrigue FOR KIDS!!! My niece loved the first series and I can absolutely see why it’s such a popular series.
I think I’m going to backtrack to the prequel series before I continue on!
