Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Jenny Han

I love this whole trilogy with my whole heart and am sad that I finally finished it. However I'm so glad that I get to finish it before the movie comes out. (Both TATB 2 and TATB 3)

The third book to me was beautiful. We get to see Lara Jean and Peter and other characters maturing as they decides where to further their studies. Which at this moment, I relate to a lot. I too am deciding which path I'm taking soon. However, I didn't have much feelings with this book as I did with the first and second one. Probably because of the wedding happening and everything. But I do love Dan Covey and Trina Rothschild though! Excited to see Trina on the screen soon! Love her character!

Overall, the book was good. Loved the ending. I thought it was beautiful that everyone has their own happy endings in this book.

“Iʼm Leia—I can live in a tree, but you canʼt take that away from me.”

This witty, laughable book gives us an insight on Carrieʼs nostalgic young life and her early Star Wars days. It is interesting to see the way young Carrie journal because some of it written in riddles and poems and some are written down like you poured your heart out after a long day of working.

Seeing as it was Carrieʼs teenage-self writing it down, I find myself relating to some of her writings as I am a teenager myself. I love how serious this book is because itʼs telling the story of someoneʼs personal life but Carrie made it witty and laughable and I did just that. With her fame skyrocketing back then. It was crazy what goes through her mind but also expected.

Overall this is such a good book, I would love to read more of Carrieʼs memoirs or any memoirs in that matter (because I donʼt read a lot of biographies or memoirs so I thought Iʼd read more).

Definitely deserve a 5-star rating.

Carrie On Forever! ❤️

First of all, I love this book because I love Vines and I miss the times I had on the app (RIP Vine, may you rest in peace my old friend).

Page one and I can already hear the Vine in my head.

However it sucks that the writers did not credit all these amazing viners.
Wild Embers: Poems of Rebellion, Fire and Beauty by Nikita Gill

Wild Embers is a beautiful book of poetry about heartbreak, healing and self-love. With mentions of space, universe, mythology, and Disney princesses, it completely captures my attention on every single poem. I have been a fan of Nikita writings for a long time on Instagram and this have been the first book of hers that I read and it is so beautiful.

I didnʼt realize how long this book has been sitting on my “want to read” shelf. I got this book from a good friend of mine as a Secret Santa present and when I checked Goodreads, it has been years now that I wanted to read this book and I finally did it.

Our Chemical Hearts tells the story of mysterious new girl, Grace Town who was assigned to the schoolʼs editorial board with Henry Page.

Henry has no “true experiences” with love or relationships. His first kiss was with his best friend Lola and turns out Lola is attracted to the opposite gender.

Itʼs cliché yet fascinating how Henry was attracted to Grace. It was so simple yet so adorable. They are adorable. I am a little upset that they didnʼt end up together in the end. But I am glad that they end it in a good way. Iʼd say the ending was beautiful because Grace is slowly healing from the traumatic state she was in before because of Domʼs death. Henry too is slowly accepting the fact that Grace will never love him as much as he loves her and she loved Dom.

Honorable mentions: I find Murrayʼs character very brilliant and hilarious. Same goes to Lola and Henryʼs parents. Aside from Henry and Grace, these characters made me laugh out loud too and I am definitely entertained by them.

Such a good book. Definitely deserving of my 5-star rating. Would totally recommend to anyone who wants a light read and is a contemporary reader as I am.
Season of the Witch by Sarah Rees Brennan

I am a huge fan of the show and when I heard that there was a book made based on the series. I know I just had to read it.

Season of the Witch brings us back to Sabrinaʼs days before the dark baptism. Along with what we didnʼt see or know in the show with the “What happens in the dark” chapters. I know that this book is written as if it was an alternate universe of the show but still, it felt one with the show.

No Lilith possessing Ms. Wardwell parts too. Which I find kind of disappointing but I am definitely okay with it.

Overall, the book is so good, I loved it. Despite some parts and lines being different from the original show, I still enjoy it. Anything Chilling Adventures of Sabrina related... sign me up!

First of all, the fact that itʼs set in Malacca in the 1890s Malaya excites me because I love Malacca and my family visits Malacca once a year because we have families up there so diving into Malacca before independence is something that intrigues me a lot.

I read this book together with my friend, Leesya, in anticipation of the series release on Netflix today (Jan 23). The amazing Malaysian and Taiwanese cast combo looks so good I am excited to watch it once I reviewed this.

I am not a very superstitious person, but living in Malaysia, the diversity of our culture has made me believe in some myths we were told about. Stories of ghosts, mysterious land of bunian, etc.

Speaking of Malaysia and the diversity of our culture, I love how in this book, the author mentions our tradisional cultures. Especially cultures in Malacca. Like the wearing of kebaya. Like baju kurung, kebaya was a formal piece of clothing back then. I love kebaya! (Note: if anyone ever come to Malacca today, thereʼs a really great shop that sells beautiful handmade kebaya for reasonable price near the Stadhuys!)

I love how independent and strong-minded Li Lanʼs character is. Sheʼs not afraid, sheʼs brave, sheʼs kind of rebellious. I honestly picture Li Lan as Mulan of her time. She cares for Amah and her mourning father. And she is the embodiment of a balanced character in my opinion. She is strong-minded but she is also indecisive. She is brave but she is also scared. Itʼs balanced. Yin and Yang.

I would love to know more of Er Lang story. And whatʼs going on with their “relationship” I suppose because I am confused by the ending. But I truly enjoyed their story and how Er Lang helped Li Lan to cross the Plains of the Dead to find Lim Tian Ching.

Speaking of Lim Tian Ching, I wonder what happens to him after Li Lan is back in her body. Is he taken to Court? Did he find out that Yan Hong was the one who killed him? (Which I think is intended instead of accidental)

Anyway, amazing story. Love it. 5-stars definitely!
Here Lies Daniel Tate by Cristin Terrill

The story is so captivating and I am literally so invested with the book that all I look forward to during my free time is to read this book. IT IS THAT GOOD!

I really wanna know who this guy really is, a name at least. Heʼs “Daniel Tate” immortally. Also, Patrick and Lex? Definition of Sweet Home Alabama, thatʼs what they are.

I can picture this book becoming a movie some time in the future. Probably would be something narrative like 13 Reasons Why... but better. Oops.

Anyway, SO SO SO GOOD! Love the book. 10/10 would recommend it to anyone and everyone!
