The Viscount Who Loved Me —and Edenbrooke— but make it good, although I'm not picking up another historical romance about sisters any time soon. the protagonist's sister in this one is plain (like all the other side characters) and the hero's, mean, and both of them prove to be selfish and stupid in their own ways, thus not worthy of their siblings' unwavering loyalty. still would've rounded up my rating to 4 stars if I hadn't felt kind of tired/unmoved by the end despite the story having a better conflict than most romances out there, and with half the amount of pages, but that's just how I usually feel when I'm finishing a romance book. finally, I wish the author would write a marriage of convenience slash age gap version of Lakeshire Park with David as the hero (he showed up like a widower Darcy, I loved it) and no conflict, just slice of life and eventually some smut (the original is clean btw, but the talking makes up for it).

as underwhelming as i thought it would be. e olha que quase nunca leio histórias de mistério, ou thrillers, ou qualquer livro que tenha como principal objetivo me Chocar. e tal qual os personagens fiz questão de não gravar os spoilers no poema dos soldadinhos pendurado no quarto de cada um pra tirar o máximo de proveito desse crime de mest🥱

i think this is the first romance to make me wish the protagonists didn't end up together lol their characterization, especially Aspen's, is simply a joke. i could hear the author laughing while writing that shitty conflict. and the game behind the title, despite setting the story in motion, gets old pretty fast.

The Graveyard Book: Full Cast Production by Neil Gaiman

the full-cast audiobook of The Graveyard Book is immaculate, especially the main narrator's ability of sounding like a grandpa telling lost fairy tales by the fireplace. the story itself, however, doesn't live up to it. I could say fans of Coraline will love it, but it didn't leave the same mark on me that that one left, despite making it to my "favorite beginnings" shelf. the first half has its sparkling moments —with that creepiness Gaiman is known for and valuable life lessons aimed, I believe, at older kids. still, the chapters work more as independent tales than pieces of a whole, and from the fifth onwards I was so bored the underwhelming resolution of the murder mystery seemed only fitting.
