During my first attempt at venturing into romance, I had tried Poston's The Dead Romantics and I wasn't impressed - the characters, plot, romance all fell flat for me. I hadn't planned on picking up another of her books, but I felt the need to venture into romance to break up the fantasy reads and decided to give her another try. I'm glad I did.
I enjoyed The Seven Year Slip so much. I loved the whimsical atmosphere, the message, the romance, the characters, the plot, just for some reason it called to me. Sure it falls to the cliche's I often find within romances but for some reason it just worked. It made me believe in love again and adventure, and being one's authentic self.

I’m not one for romance novels, but as I sit here rocking my own newborn, I figured I would give this one a try.
Bastone does an amazing job of weaving a story with likable characters and the journey to motherhood. She inserts all the little cliches of pregnancy, the nuances that tend to be forgotten about, and the roller coaster of emotions that course through the body.
Sure the pregnancy was very text book like and not relatable to everyone (myself included). However it’s the coming together as a family, and journey to motherhood that I think we all can relate to. It’s scary becoming a parent, even more frightening when you face it alone and watching Eve grow as she finds acceptance in her reality and love was magical.
It’s the realizing in the end, that even though so much changes when becoming a parent, that you can’t imagine a world where they don’t exist.

Another amazing volume! I feel like this one could have been slightly longer to tell us what happened with certain characters....

So far this is by far my favorite of the volumes that I have read. In general this series has such amazing plot and character progression and the ending of this one, just wow 💕.

With fall slowly slipping behind and winter setting in, I was ready for a cute cozy read and Baldree once again provides exactly that. The sea-side setting, the cozy bookshop and bakery, the characters, everything was so atmospheric and it drew me in. Unlike Legends & Lattes there is a little more higher stakes and I found it to be quite enjoyable. I love low-stakes but sometimes it can drag the pacing down, with the little bit of tension and action thrown in I found the pacing to be just right.
I definitely wouldn't mind reading more from this universe whether we follow Viv or any of the other character's we have been introduced to.
