This book gives basic information on several methods of approaching shadow work. There are many examples to help in understanding concepts. I feel this was a good place for me to start. I was bogged down in reading more in-depth books, but now feel I can go back to reading them while also doing some shadow work with a couple of the methods I found in this book.

Much more information in this book than what I am looking for.
The Forever War by Joe Haldeman

Joe Haldeman gives his opinion of war as he saw it up close and personal. He uses very interesting characters and science and theory about time and space to put it into a dynamite story. I do not read SF war novels (I used to binge Star Trek, but got over that addiction), but was enticed into reading this one by a review. I'm glad I read it. Excellent read.

An excellent wrap-up to a great series. It's one I'm thinking of reading again. First class writing and story telling with themes that fit as much today as they did in the time of the stories.

I liked the book at the beginning, because I could relate to that relaxing of the thought process and experiencing reality differently. But as the book went on I felt I could not relate to where he was going with it. There was the idea of my having more to do with causing reality than I was comfortable with. At that point I really couldn't understand what was being said.

I would have liked it talking more about personal life than doing well financially, but there was a good balance between the two and it sounds like excellent principles and system to follow. I wanted something to help me focus on things I plan to do. This gave me more than that. It showed me that I first need to name what it is that is most important to me and then how to focus on doing that.
This doesn't mean ignoring other important things, but making sure to do that one thing that is my next step in that most important thing-blocking off time for that. It's a good read that leads step by step along that path explaining why the steps work.

There was only a part in the classical period that I was interested in.

Somehow: Thoughts on Love by Anne Lamott
The book seemed to be free-flowing thoughts on love. There were many chuckles and many very serious parts. I've enjoyed listening to the author on podcasts and found this book to have the same sound of her sitting and talking from the heart. I don't know how to rate it, but I did enjoy the book in it's unusual presentation of the feel of love from many angles.

I love this series with the main character development over time. The details on law enforcement in that area of the country and what search dogs can do and how they may be well trained--that's all so fascinating! I have also read Old Hickory Lane (pseudonym E.J. Ruek) and that book is what got me started reading Keur's work. Now I see there is a mystery series starting up. I'm thrilled!
