The Vampire's Desire: Vampire Dark Romance by Rianne Burnett

This was a nice quick novella. I literally read it while I was in the bath relaxing and enjoyed it. Being picked by the Vampire Prince doesn't sound too bad to me.

Oh Fuck! Wtf just happened. Those were my first words upon finishing this book so theres that to start with...
I enjoyed this book a lot and im still unwrapping all my feelings about everything we uncovered and all the new information we gathered. I want to say I definitely loved it more than Iron Flame but im not sure if I can say I loved it more than Fourth Wing. But I'd say I'll have more of an opinion on my favorite when we have more to the series. I'll probably be back with tons of thoughts and feelings but here we go for now. Might be spoilers so take heed moving forward.
I loved that she gave us perspectives right at the end I have so many speculations about why she choose those specific perspectives but who really knows frfr. I loved that things we have wanted to know or understand since FW was provided in this book and still left it open ended for what could be next. I love that we got context and tons of clues but nothing we learned felt concrete or through like we still need more on everything we learned.
I would say one downside to this book for me was I didn't feel as connected to all the characters and that's probably because my capacity to care about main chracters caps out after so many. So while I boo hoo cried about Andarna and I was shocked, scared and sad about Mira. I felt little about the other loses but I do think they were important because they will be a driving force for the chracters who were impacted the most by the loss. I feel it will give them perspective shift and a different driving force.
Anyways overall so much to say about this book but I loved it. I could talk for hours and hours about this but don't want my review to turn into an dissertation. So I'm down for now. Hope you enjoyed this one too! Until 2027 🥹😅ðŸ«

Real Love by Alexandria House
4.0
I really enjoyed this book. I liked that I wasn't sure what to expect next and that there was a twist at the end I kind of wondered about halfway through but I couldn't confirm. The banter between Denise and her mom was fun also and I totally understood it. I loved the depth of Hasaans story and how it reminded me that in our community we often fail young men. I was glad to see the full circle healing of their pasts happen by the end of the book for both of them.
I always need a good love story and this one as the third installment in the Love After series by Alexandria House was one of the good ones.

I was so glad to see my homegirl Trevia get the man she deserves! Stripper Bae was real raggedy but I literally know the type and I hated it for her cuz yeah the level of betrayal homeboy dealt her was horrendous.
However I loved the energy Nyles was giving. He applied straight pressure and i love a man who can take care of a woman and help heal her wounds. Of course ita on her but for a man to protect and safe keep her while she heals. Mmm love it and cime on good sex! We need a mam who can put it down and its the best feeling ever when hes better than the kast man who had tou all messed up! If you havent been there gope you nwver have to be there. But overall I definitely recommend this story. Im loving these friends and their love stories in this interconnected series. I plan on finishing this series out when I need to decompress from my next fantasy read to recenter me and guarantee me a good love story! Iykyk

Wonder by Christina C. Jones

I enjoyed this read, I listened to it in one sitting it felt like and Id definitely recommend it to someone looking for something quick and easy to read. This is a good story, with romance in it, and I feel personally, a nice step into a dystopia themed story that's not too heavy on the dysotpia lol.
Idk if anyone else is feeling me but for context I don't typically read reviews before I read a book and I didnt see this one recommeded anywhere so I didnt know what I was walking into based on the short blurb I read but I was not disappointed or too put off by the way the story started and I think I needed to be slowly lead into this dystopia theme.
This was on a tagged list in my libby account for Christina J Jones books i just put in one plafe fpr my ease. I choose it because I always enjoy a CJC book, and default to them between reads alongside a few other fav Black Women Authors. Her characters speak to the types of people I encounter in the world im from and it always feels good to be seen. So for me her storytelling did not disappoint, even if i had no idea where it was going. I love that it started slow and gave me a lot of context for what was revealed later. I recognized later on all the Alice in Wonderland themes, but immediately picked up on the hunger games type of theme but like for us!
Final thlught though is that I connect and identify with the selfless big sister role who will sacrifice anything for her siblings and I love a good confident man humbled by a woman he finds as an asset to his entire life! So chefs kiss on this one from me..

I wasn't expecting anything specific when I decided to delve into this book. I know that our book club is about to delve into All About Love and I guess I just wanted to take the opportunity to hear what she had to say about this topic. I found it super informative a much better listen for me than sitting down to read it physically. A lecture style listen on a topic that im curious about is an enjoyable experience for me and this book and the topics it touches on did not disappoint.
If youre interested in hearing a perspective on men you probably haven't considered or seen so boldly spoken about with concise understanding this is the book for you. It gave me more to consider and think about when looking at men and in the ways that I speak to and work with the men in my life and just in the world. While I would love for men to read this I find that as women supporting men in our community its a great read to help you understand how society impacts them in ways we don't always consider as well as affirm things that we already know about men.

This was a cute book. Good Romance and we love a rich man who applies pressure!!! I loved that Greer was a travel blogger because I'd love that for myself! I love deep passion and instant chemistry because I understand it myself. The drama was something and I love how it all panned out in the end, although I was a bit concerned for a min. I like how the author was able to incorporate the differences betwen how people take rejection and breakup. Great quick listen I happened to be up late and finished this book in no time. I know this is a 3 book interconnected series so excited to throw the last two into the rotation for when I need pure romance.
The Gifts of Imperfection by Brené Brown
4.0
I think what I most enjoy about the way Brené Brown writes is that it is not a how to. She always gives you things to think about and consider when it comes to your life and living it the way you want. She puts all the questions down for you and gives you guidance but ensurenyou have the power by never saying this is how you do it if you want to succeed. Which for me, makes it authentic she focuses on the fact that we are all different and so therfore must live by different sets of rules.
This is a book I know I'd probably not sit down and read (I've had it on the shelf for years so yeah wasn't going to sit for it) not becuse I don't enjoy the topic but really just because my ADHD says lets hesr it instead. So I've learned when it comes to non fiction me and audiobooks go together real bad. Listening is more like listening to an informative talk or lecture which I happen to enjoy attending and have extreme focus for.
Much like attenting those I have takeaways and I know I'll revisit the audiobook again and next time pair it with my physical copy ro highlight some things I want to add to my daily practices and keep with me as I grow as a person. Highly recommend any books that makes you introspective and empowered but not attacked!!!

This book was so unhinged and I loved it so much. Definitely worth the read and the audio will not disappoint there are some areas that make you relisten if you know what I mean!!!
I think the unlikely but still so realistic way they came together was so perfect and the shared dark interests were a nice theme i dint read enough of. I love that it wasn't overly creepy but it definitely touched the edges of borderline too much. And considering everything that happens in this book I find it comical im calling it borderline.
It was definitely the 'more spice' I needed dropped into my book rotation and I'd definitely recommend to anyone looking for a little dark romance, and a little touch her and die B.D.E!!!
So if you're asking, im recommending because I couldn't stop listening and I devoured this book in no time. I love when a book grabs me by the throat and sits me down to only focus on it. Thats also the kind of energy I love from a man, and both those themes are in these pages.

Bending The Rules by Christina C. Jones

This was a cute book to wrap up the Wright Brother Series. I loved how it all came together for these two in the end. I personally could never see my male bestfriend and I ever falling for each other and we have know each other for aboit 20 years now so I couldn't relate to that. But I liked the confusion and uncertainty playing out between friends who are turning into something else. I would consider this something cozy and light to enjoy when you need a good romance with not too much else happening except the blossoming love.
