I am new to Chelle Sloan books and I can't get enough. I have a lot to catch up on and I can't wait! Great Character development and world building. Cross over characters from other series i need to now read. It's single Dad/Nanny, Pro Football Player, Found Family, Age Gap, Small Town Romance. I've added all Chelle's books to my TBR ad am ready to devour them all.

If you love small town and single dad romances then you will love The One I Want. Betsy and Wes will have you swooning and falling I love with them. When Wes’ wife leaves him he moves back to his hometown to be with friends and family where he meets Betsy. There is an immediate spark between these two and the banter was so much fun. I loved the support she gave the children and she fit in with him and his family. This story was heartwarming, fun and low on angst.
This audiobook was narrated by Stephanie Rose and Chris Chambers. Stephanie captured Betsy’s sweet and fun personality. Chris Chambers was is new to me and I enjoyed his performance. They both did an amazing job bringing these characters to life.
Absolutely loved Wes & Betsy’s romance. Thank you to Chelle and Valentine PR for an audio copy!

Wes is a football player who had announced his retirement after the upcoming season. When he got home after the press conference he was met with divorce papers and his wife of over a decade leaving him and his three childern. She didn’t even say goodbye to the kids.
Betsy is a walking mess. She hasn’t kept a job for every long and has had so many she has lost count. She just moved to Rolling Hills as her best friend offered her a job at her event planning company. Betsy was getting into the swing of things and was enjoying being in a small town. She is renting a place next door to her landlord.
The was the first time she saw Wes and his kids was at Halloween. Wes is the son of her landlord.
When he took the kids to his hometown to go trick or treating was when he was stunned by the beauty of Betsy. She was in a devil costume that hugged her body. After thinking about how he was going to handle being a single dad of three and continue everything that is needed for his career, the smart thing was to move back home where his parents and family are so they can help. After struggling and advice from his mom he asked Betsy to be the kids Nanny as he was desperate for help. She agreed as she really enjoyed his kids.
I always enjoy Chelle’s books. All the characters express their love or their intentions almost immediately but there is always something that challenges their love that they have for each other. This book is no different. Wes knew if he were to follow his heart he was afraid what it would mean to his kids if they went sour.

Holy crow! I had never wanted to become a character in a book before, but when I finished this story, I knew I wanted to be Betsy. I so want to become her when I grow up!
This is the story of Wes and Betsy.
This story has all the emotions! I laughed like crazy, I swooned like a Jane Austen character, and I cried tears of joy and pain.
I applaud Ms. Sloan for making her hero not only an alpha, but an alpha that is in touch with his feelings and emotions and is not afraid to show them.
Betsy is all that and a bag of chips, the epitome of a true southern lady with enough spice to make her a firecracker. I loved how she loved herself; I floved how she stood up for herself and those she loved.
I loved the whole cast of characters, new and old, and I am hoping and keeping all my fingers crossed that we will see more from the crew from Rolling Hills!
This is definitely going to be in my best reads of 2023!

The One I Want was such a sweet single dad, nanny romance. This was my first Chelle Sloan book, and I just fell for this football dad and his three perfect kids.
This started out differently than I expected with a single dad/nanny romance since he was married in the opening. Wes is a successful pro football star ready for retirement. He has been married to his college girlfriend for years, but he is completely blindsided when she wants a divorce and leaves him and their kids. He decides to move back to his hometown for a fresh start and support. He meets his parents' curvy and sassy new neighbor, and she builds an immediate connection with his 3 kids. He realizes he needs more help with the kids during his last season of football and asks her to be the nanny.
Wes and Betsy have great banter, and you could feel their chemistry, but it was not the best timing. Wes just got divorced, and now she was working for him. Of course, they were not able to deny their connection for long. I absolutely loved how Chelle Sloan showed their relationship after they got together. The 3rd act conflict was realistic and needed for the issues Wes had from his horrible ex-wife.

Chris Chambers and Stephanie Rose did a great job bringing the amazing banter, chemistry, and doing the kids' voices. I loved how the kids were represented by the narrators. I flew through this book in one sitting and would highly recommend it.
