A single dad, nanny, sports, small town, found family- it has everything I love!
The beginning just grabs you in and your sucked into the beginning of a new series! whoops, I regret nothing! It is a great stand alone but also part 1 in the Rolling Hills series. This book had me laughing into tears. The banter, the humor and the relatability of this book has won my heart! <3 I'll be back Rolling Hills.
Wes has such a relatable situationship (not career) and Betsy has the finding yourself era vibe every woman needs to experience!
This book had me hooked and cackling from the beginning and drew my heart with Wes, and the emotional rollercoaster through divorce and finding your HEA. Such real conversations were had in this book, however: the most insufferable character we will call her a great villian- Kara.
Narrators- Chris Chambers and Stephanie Rose <3 Their work is amazing on this book. Supporting character in creating the story in my head. I will be reading more of Chelle Sloan and more in the series!
*I received an ALC in return for an honest review, my honest review is read this, don't skip out on this feel good read and join Wes and Betsy.

Whoa… this story hit a little too close to home. How? It’s quite similar to my own life with the ex-wife just up and leaving the kids without a care causing severe abandonment issues. I got physically angry reading some of those scenes.
While it made me agitated, I’m glad it was written as this story helps to bring awareness to selfish “dead beat” moms who do exist in this world but don’t get the same “recognition” as the fathers do when they abandon their kids. It was absolutely glorious that Betsy was able to speak her mind about Cara. Reality is never that easy most times.
Overall, a great addition to the Chelle Sloan Nashville Fury multiverse! I never thought I’d like contemporary sports romance. That’s why you should never judge a book by its cover.

A hot mess with a big heart, an ironic sense of humor and great narration. No one tells a story quite like, Chelle Sloan. Chambers and Rose are a welcome delight. From the hints of irony to the seduction of heart, The One I Want delivers.

This was a cute and delightful romance. I enjoyed Wes and Betsy. I loved how they has instant connection and chemistry. Betsy was so amazing with Wes' kids.
Wes was dealing with a lot from retiring from the NFL and then his wife springing divorce on him. Betsy ends up in Rolling Hills to have a fresh start. She meets Wes and sparks fly! I loved the characters and the small town of Rolling Hills!
I was touched by Wes and Betsy's journey.

Stephanie Rose and Chris Chambers did an incredible job bringing Chelle Sloan’s single dad/nanny romance to life. Wes and Betsey’s complicated love story really grows on you. I enjoyed the slow burn and chemistry. I found Betsey’s interactions with the kids endearing and relatable.

I was looking for a light fun read that would be fun, and Chelle Sloan is usually good for that. Thankfully, I found this book! I love the character development and the way she made me feel all the feelings!!!
I was honestly caught smirking at my book while at work while reading this one!

Wes comes home from announcing his retirement from professional football to find his wife packing her bags and leaving him. She doesn't want the kids or anything to do with him, she is done. Wes is taken by surprise and left to pick up the pieces. Turning to the help of friends and family he decides to move back to the town he grew up in, so it is easier to get the help he needs. Knowing he can't continue to rely only on family, he hires a nanny, Betsy. Betsy is undeniably attractive, but as Wes sees her with his kids more and more feelings develop. They both agree that they cannot get involved, for the kids and the mess a break-up could cause.
I loved Betsy. She came off as a bit chaotic, but her love and devotion to Wes's three kids were amazing. She gave them exactly what they needed and built them up strong. I did struggle a bit with Wes, he was completely blindsided with his divorce and that left some trauma. He transferred some of his feelings of being abandoned onto Betsy and that was not fair to her. It was clear why he did that, but unfair to Betsy. That said, these two seemed to be great for each other. They were what the other needed where they were in their lives. Wes gave Betsy unconditional love, and family while Betsy broke him out of his stress bubble.
I never thought I could hate the ex-wife as much as I did. She not only abandoned her husband by blindsiding him but left her kids and moved to another state. She barely had any contact with them. My heart ached for these poor little ones. That said, Betsy was amazing for them! She brought out the best in each of them.
This was such a heartfelt romance that was full of laughter, pain and healing. I love that we got to meet the future characters of the other books and can't wait to read them!
