Depressing.
I thought this was a romance but it was just a mess. Depressing to top it all off. Will not finish the series.

By far one of the worst books I’ve EVER read!!!! I was literally seething so bad once I finished that I had to go watch funny animal videos on YouTube immediately. I kept thinking the entire time reading, “it will get better,” but it didn’t. It just kept getting worse and worse. The main female is soooooooo RETARDED!!!! By the end I’d made up my mind that I hated her more than any female character I’ve ever read about. I was hoping she’d die for the last half of the book, and I seriously wanted to punch the main male in the face for pinning over her for the ENTIRE book like a love sick idiot.
I seriously can’t think of a single good thing about this book AT ALL! Even the reason why she breaks up with him is completely transparent. So it starts to get old very quickly every time she starts to tell him and then throws a temper tantrum for random reasons when all he wants is to fucking talk to her like grown ass adults! But no, she blames him, HIM for messing up their relationship, when it’s all her fault. And what’s worse is by the end he thinks it’s his fault too! But it’s her self absorbed childish personality that’s the issue. UGH!!!!!!!! Ok, I’ve officially gotten too worked up. End of review.

I originally gave this book a rating of 4 starts, but as I thought about what I wanted to say in this review I realised that perhaps this book was more of a 3.5 kind of book.
I found this book to be very frustrating and very predictable at times, and honestly I spent at least half of the book wanting to throttle Adam and Mia, and perhaps wanted to bang their heads together a few times, but at the same time, I was totally invested in the characters, if Adam and Mia were happy, I was grinning like a fool, if they were sad I was sad, if they were irritated, so was I. (I think I practically bit my poor little brothers head off at one point... my bad)
I’ve always had a gift for picking up on when an author foreshadow’s something so I did see e certain twist with Mia coming from the beginning of the book, perhaps even in the first novel, HOWEVER I didn’t see the second twist coming at all and so I did end up having a breakdown along with Mia. My heart broke for her and Adam.
I loved the way this book was told from Adams point of view, he’s an extremely complicated character, and as the story goes along we begin to understand why he behaves the way he does, and I might have fallen in love with him myself, I’m thoroughly looking forward to the third instalment of Adam and Mia’s story!

God, I am so freaking annoyed and disappointed with this book. I mean, seriously, what was the author thinking?!?!?
At Any Turn picks up more or less where At Any Price left off and at first everything was fine. The book is entirely from Adam’s POV which started off great and ended up horrible. God, what is wrong with him??? He thinks pretty much in gaming terms and strategy so when Mia starts pulling away he thinks things like, “lure the enemy in with bait”. I’m sorry, what?? Mia is not the freaking enemy, SHE’S YOUR GIRLFRIEND. Geez, no wonder their relationship goes to hell.
I adored Adam in At Any Price but I couldn’t stand him in At Any Turn. He’s controlling, domineering, refuses to open up, and he even hires a PI to spy on Mia at one point. A PI. Yeah, I would have broken up with him too. The worst part is that I wanted so badly to be on his team, to root for Adam and Mia’s relationship but it got to the point where I honestly thought they’d be better off separately and never speaking again. They go in circles for the whole book with Adam getting angry because he’s in the dark and Mia refusing to explain anything to him.
This book was a mess but more than that, it was such a disappointment. I nearly DNF’d but at the 90% mark I thought I might as well finish for the hell of it. Everything that I enjoyed in At Any Price was gone and I am not going to be reading the rest of the books.

Spoilery. Seriously, don't read further if you don't want things ruined.
Written from Adam's POV, I struggled throughout the book to remember who was speaking. It kind of threw me off, but I still LOVED the book. So we see Mia pull away from Adam just as he is starting to find a healthy balance in his life between work and play. Her distance pushes him away and back towards the work-a-holic lifestyle. To top if off, we see her health decline and don't know why. Honestly, I suspected pregnancy the whole time and turns out, cancer. But then later, sure 'nuff, it's also a pregnancy. Double whammy. This couple frustrates me so much because they have so much potential to be "the perfect couple" despite their beginnings, and yet they both keep doing such stupid things. Even with Heath stepping in and being the voice of reason as times, it doesn't help. And then there's Jordan, always there influencing Adam in subtle ways. Jordan is probably the friend that most girlfriends would hate the most because he is the playboy that you cannot trust.
Anyway, this book ends with a cliffhanger and you no doubt will want to continue reading!

This whole book was a giant cliffhanger. It was mostly unnecessary if there was one simple thing in all of it: communication. And for the love of God, if Mia thinks that Adam has the bigger control issued in this relationships she is crazy, because that woman is the Iron Lady of the control and I am not saying this is a good way.

I did not enjoy this book... Almost at all. There was a very simple solution to the characters problems and it is Communication! It honestly just dragged on and on... I have it 2 stars because I did find myself enjoying some of the moments that the main characters shared.

I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review.
This is the continuation of Adam and Emilia's (Mia) story. It's told from Adam's POV and it's all new narrative. I really liked Adam's character in At Any Price but this story exposed him as a bit of a plonker (as we say in here in the UK). I was pretty ticked with him at times in this story because he's just so controlling.....but no one can doubt his love for Emilia. Emilia and Adam have in rough in this book and it ends on a serious cliffhanger. The writing was absorbing and gripped me. A really enjoyable 4 stars.

This contemporary romance was decent, but a bit heavy and intense. Most of the book involved the two main characters keeping secrets and fighting. It was quite emotional at times, which can be fine if you know what you're getting into. I did appreciate that the whole book was told from the male's pov...it's not common in the romance genre, and I think it was well done.
