At Any Turn by Brenna Aubrey
3.0
I originally gave this book a rating of 4 starts, but as I thought about what I wanted to say in this review I realised that perhaps this book was more of a 3.5 kind of book.
I found this book to be very frustrating and very predictable at times, and honestly I spent at least half of the book wanting to throttle Adam and Mia, and perhaps wanted to bang their heads together a few times, but at the same time, I was totally invested in the characters, if Adam and Mia were happy, I was grinning like a fool, if they were sad I was sad, if they were irritated, so was I. (I think I practically bit my poor little brothers head off at one point... my bad)
I’ve always had a gift for picking up on when an author foreshadow’s something so I did see e certain twist with Mia coming from the beginning of the book, perhaps even in the first novel, HOWEVER I didn’t see the second twist coming at all and so I did end up having a breakdown along with Mia. My heart broke for her and Adam.
I loved the way this book was told from Adams point of view, he’s an extremely complicated character, and as the story goes along we begin to understand why he behaves the way he does, and I might have fallen in love with him myself, I’m thoroughly looking forward to the third instalment of Adam and Mia’s story!
