Yet again so unbelievably predictable. I clocked the big reveal in the first 50 pages. Not to mention the deeply unlikeable mmc who has to be brain dead to not connect that the syringes, which he's been very strongly assured aren't for drug abuse purposes, could possibly be prescribed for medical reasons. How dense are we supposed to believe he can be. Also the myriad of ways he lies and manipulates the FMC and she seems perfectly happy to let him despite it also being the reason for the constant on and off breakup. The problem cannot also be the solution.

If pain and misery could be a book, this would be it đź’”

Poor Heath had to deal with everyone’s bullshit without being able to say anything. If this isn’t loyalty at its greatest, I don’t know what is 🥲

Morals of the story
1) Communicate with an open-heart and get your head out of your butt đź«
2) Don’t hold onto control because we cannot control anything other than our own actions and words 🙏🏻
3) Keep on supporting your loved ones and keep reaching out your hand, even when you don’t understand what’s happening in their lives. Just be there ❤️‍🩹

I'm a sucker for completing a series if I've already bought the books, but after reading this one, I will NEVER be reading the third book, even though I spent money on it. I really hate cliffhangers, and I always have to read the next book to know what happens, but I honestly couldn't care less about what happens with these two after this book, even though it ended on a cliffhanger.

Mia is keeping a BIG secret in this one, and while I think Adam may be a bit of a control freak, he deserved to know what was going on with her. He could clearly tell she wasn't healthy, and he wanted to know what was going on with her. Considering they've told the other they love them, I think Mia's issue is something he needed to know, and if she was going to act like a bitch and complain about Adam keeping secrets, then she should have told him her secret. She was doing everything she accused Adam of doing, and all she did was get on my last nerve. If you aren't adult enough to tell someone you're in a loving relationship with that you have

, then you aren't adult enough to be in a relationship, period. I couldn't have hated Mia any more in this story, and while I'm sure they get their HEA, I refuse to read it because I don't think she deserves one after he behavior. I won't rate this book one star because I didn't love the first one, so I should've known better than to start this one, but my compulsion to finish a series I've spent money on was too strong. Lesson learned.

It happened again! Brenna Aubrey has pulled me into Mia and Adam's life and investing my heart. This story picks up where the first one left off, and we have Adam learning there is more to life than work. Things seems really good until Mia begins getting her medical school acceptances and now life is taking a turn. But there is more than meets the eye here. And it isn't good. Throughout their journey, I have felt all kinds of emotions. I have been head over heels in love, frustrated beyond belief and in complete chaos wondering what is happening. These two are meant to be together, and issues are getting in their way. The biggest is communication! Now with my emotions on edge, I am grabbing book 3 so I can see where their story goes. Aubrey is so talented, and I am enjoying her writing style. A little angsty, a little steamy and a story that you can sink your teeth into. It's fantastic.

Add in Jason Clarke as the narrator, and we have magic. He brings these characters to life. This is mainly told from Adam's point of view, and Clarke has crawled into his head and given the performance so much. He lets us understand and feel the story, leaving us wanting more.

At any turn

I really enjoyed reading this from Adam pov he is a wonderful character and has a lot on hiding in this book. I feel bad for him and I hate how they try and make it seem like he is the bad guy throughout the book ..
Heath is hilarious as always and mia is just mia-with a few extra major problems--

Let's see what happens in book three!!!

To a laughable degree, the exact opposite of how to conduct a healthy relationship.  But I still enjoyed it so???

I just did a relisten of this book and it is as heartbreaking as the times before. Even though I know what happens and how things progress for this couple, it still had me shouting at my phone and wanting to shake Adam and Mia. And chapter 20? I dunno how I survived it again, so much emotion. I loved that we got to see Adam and Mia’s lives after they got together and how they were learning to be a couple. If you’ve not read it yet, know it is a cliffhanger and the next book is already available to dive into. And trust me, you’re going to want to know what happens next.

Jason Clarke narrates this book to perfection. When I heard this was one of his first audiobooks, I had to do that whole, are you sure? thing. Because his performance is absolutely brilliant. He delivers the story in a way that is consuming and the emotion, man, I just can’t. The scene between Adam and Heath at the end of the book is gut wrenching. And left me in a puddle of tears.
