Ehhh... I did not originally plan to buy this book. But I heard there was a family tree and some other things that I thought I would be interested in. I was so wrong.
I don't know who told her that was a family tree, but they lied to her.
The drawings were meh. The one of Sera was the only one I actually liked. And OMG the one of Jadis... if you can't draw feet.. don't put it in a book to be published, WTH.
I did not care for Willa's POV. It was creepy. Every time she mentioned that she "liked seeing that part in a vision," I rolled my eyes so hard I think I saw my brain. And do you really need to BE with everyone you meet? I do not have any emotional attachment to Willa and do not care about her exploits.
I couldn't even read all of it. I skipped most of it. Although I read another review that said that Poppy's mom...Isbeth (who Willa calls Isbit*h cause she saw it in a vision) ...section was good, so I guess I need to see.
I liked the summary parts at times... but do we need to see every ones? I read like 5 and then skipped around. Read Sera and Ash's and that's about it.
Oh and the Draken Davina. She has blue eyes in the first Sera and Ash book, but I thought that was an JLA oversight. She double downed on it in this book. When she describes her it says blue eyes when the rest have red. I don't know why she is different. If she hadn't mentioned it again in this book, I would have thought it a writing mistake. So why are Davina's eyes blue?

Visions of Flesh and Blood is exactly what fans of FBBA and F&F have been asking for throughout the years! JLA delivers a compendium that explains our beloved characters, their connections, and the prophecies.
VOFAB is told from Miss. Willa's perspective (yes, yes THAT Miss. Willa) and reads like a reference text... plus she includes a few of her infamous diary entries and fan art! While VOFAB doesn't advance the plotline of either FBAA or F&F, it's a fun book addition to the worlds.
You might like this book if:
+ You've read all of FBAA and F&F. It contains spoilers for both series.
+ You want to learn more about your favorite characters!
+ You've been dying to know what is in Miss. Willa's diary...
Genre: Romantasy, Fantasy Reference Text
Tropes: Spicy
Stars: 5/5

I love this book because it let me relive my stories of all the characters and dissociate into this world JLA has created!
As JLA and the advertising for this book mentions: this is a Compendium - think encyclopedia reading!
We get more facts and background on pretty much every character, creature, world, universe, you name it! And I really appreciated it because sometimes ya girl be forgetting.
My only *ick* was honestly Ms. Willa - she was a bit creepy, giving off weird vibes. Honestly could have done without her chapters/ monologues.
I would have LOVED if Kieran actually narrated this book!! Petition for his POV - PLEASEEEE.

What an absolute waste of my time. I am a big FBAA fan but the fact this was even published is wild. It’s literally 20 different ways to reiterate what we’ve already read in the previous books. There was not one single thing of substance added. This whole book just made me mad lol.

Ms Willa is hilarious & has all the tea & kept receipts. Was a fun read after a very fast paced and dark series.

“For those who love to live a thousand lives between the pages and enjoy spending as much time as possible with fictional characters… This one’s for you.”
This is basically a textbook of everything we love from this series. So can everyone STFU

This is a really useful guide to the Blood & Ash/Flesh & Fire world. I would have loved to have read more about Miss Willa’s experiences and her own story living through the time of the Primals and Gods, but her snide comments and remarks thrown in every so often were highly entertaining. If I were a denizen of Atlantia or Solis I could easily imagine myself making myself comfortable in a seat by the fire at the Red Pearl and getting lost in this compendium - I have a feeling I’ll need to keep this handy when reading Born of Blood and Ash later this year.

This book really is the Blood and Ash, and Flesh and Fire world bible. It contains everything that you need to know from both of these series. Each character has their own section that tells their features, personalities, habits, mannerisms, background, and what their part in these stories has been. It’s basically everything you need in one handy guide.
While this is a compendium of both worlds so it may feel like it’s just a rehash of information, I can absolutely say that reading this formed connections for me that I just didn’t see before. Along with that we also get extra scenes that we get only in this book, gorgeous artwork, and a hilarious interview Kieran. And of course it wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t get some of Miss Willa’s famous diary entries.
This book is exactly what you need if you’re like me and tend to forget some (alright, most) things between books in a series if you’re not reading them all back to back. I will definitely be referring back to this as I’m reading if I need to look up a character that I’ve forgotten. Oh and did I mentioned the artwork already right? The ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS artwork that I was in awe of? Yep, I’ll definitely be going back to look at that artwork as I’m reading too.
