It was an enjoyable read although I did skip a few lines or pages at some moments.
I really liked this humorous, paranormal, love triangle romance. This book was different than others I've read/listened to and I was so surprised at how funny it was. This slow burn, action-packed, romance had so many twists and such amazing characters. I loved plot, mystery, and suspense. I wasn't sure what to expect going into this book and I definitely enjoyed it more than I thought I was going to.
Kitty Bang did a fantastic job voicing both the male and female characters.

I am absolutely in love with this series already. I am in love with the humor and the banter. I am in love with the cast of quirky characters in this story and I am in love with the romance aspect of this story, including the love triangle. I am such a sucker for triangles. They completely do me in, but I can't get enough.
This story made me laugh out loud. It made me bite my nails. It made me curse my reading device. It even made me swoon in parts and definitely hit some emotional high points at times. I could not put this book down and I am so excited to read the next part in the story. I can't wait to read more from these characters and to find out what is going to happen to them next.

Not a bad start to a series. I greatly dislike Daniel though, so if he's meant to be the hero, it's going to be a hard sell. It's inexcusable that he kept her so in the dark - she needed to know the situation in order to protect herself. He treats her as property, as chattel, and his every single action just reinforced that.
Dev, though, Dev I can get behind.
So let's see where it goes.

The first book in an urban fantasy/paranormal series which sees the intrepid heroine and human Zoey teaming up with a witch and werewolf, and of course not forgetting her former childhood sweetie David who just happens to be a vampire, determined to do his best and protect her from his dark new world and keep her at arms length while doing so. Together they make up a fantastic relic hunting team for whoever engages their skills. When on her latest case to find the light of Alhorra, Zoey encounters a faery Prince, Devinshea who just might be the one to mend her broken heart but before she can put it to the test, she finds out her new client is actually a demon and failure to find his artefact could cost her her soul.
There was a great flow to this book with lots of action, humour and steam. The characters were all well rounded with depth, and each brought something to the story. I loved Zoey’s feistiness and there was a hint of mystery about just who she would end up with, David the broody vampire with who she had history or would she choose the faery Prince Charming in the shape of Devin. I can’t wait to find out as this series progresses.
As a rule, I normally prefer dual narration over a sole performer, but Kitty Bang did a fantastic job voicing both the male and female characters in Steal the Light to the extent I forgot she was the only narrator. She did a great job bringing Steal the Light to life and making this audio book an enjoyable listening experience.
This first in five volumes I read this as part of the two volume set 'Thieves'. The author's UF/PNR plot holds plenty of action and excitement, a determined and skilled heroine/thief, and two sexy love loves interests, a vampire king and a fae prince. I wasn't super happy with the ending but, since I had the second book I went right into it. I was not disappointed, books 2 - 5 are 5 star reads.
Spoiler
I was team vampire not team fae

The story was boring and I didn't like Zoey or Daniel. Found them kinda annoying to be honest. I did like Dev though, so I might give the next book a try just for him.

This book was rather complex in the relationship between the three main characters. Daniel and Zoey grew up together and fell in love, but Daniel died and came back as a vampire. Well, that was just the catalyst for their new relationship that wasn't a true relationship. Well, Zoe also met Devinshay Quinn and started to have feelings for him, but didn't actually do anything about those feelings. The item that Zoey and her crew have to steal made for an interesting book. I found the relationships between the three main characters to be complex and I wasn't sure how much I liked them. At the end of this book I wasn't sure if I actually liked it, but I'm glad I kept reading because the series got a LOT better.
