Idk how the rest of this story plays out... But I am praying it doesnt go Mono because............... Team Dev
But I get all the deep feels so Team Danny too...
And if you make her or them choose I am going to be irate...
Unwittingly dragged into this series... time for book two.

The crux of our problem wasn’t me accepting Daniel. Daniel had never accepted himself.

I loved Lexi's take on the paranormal romance world in her "A Faery Story" series (which I HIGHLY recommend) and while I wasn't sure if I would like this one, I found myself devouring Zoey, Daniel and Dev's story. With so many PNR creatures and a universe rich with backstory, Lexi manages to begin an incredible story about a human, a vampire and a Fae... with a witch, a werewolf, some trolls and a demon thrown in for good measure! This is the first book in a five book series about these three (plus there's a spin off series) so while there is a HFN sense to the end... the story is definitely not over and I cannot wait to read more!

On the demand of a friend, I picked up this book soon after I had it signed by the author at ROR 18. All I can do now is shake my head and wonder what rock I've been under that I totally missed this series. Zoey is awesome, Daniel is a bit of a douche and I love Dev. Can't wait to see what happens next.

I loved this book! Fair disclosure, if you mind kinda sorta love triangles, stay away, but otherwise, if you're a fan of paranormal/Urban fantasy mixed with the action of a good heist do read.

Such a fun read. This series will be heart wench but funny. Not sure if I'm rooting more for Daniel or dev. Love them both so much.

I can't say I'm super pleased with the romantic life choices that Zoey has made. It kind of annoys me enough to make a struggle through the books. I get mad at the things certain people say. This of course is amusing. How can I get angry with ficitional characters who "say" things I don't like? :)

I enjoy almost all of the characters in this series and plan to continue them on their journey.

So I ended up finishing the book. I honestly didn't want to. I hated Zoey.. HATED her. She hung on to a guy that ignored her for 5 years. She didn't date, didn't talk to another guy for 5 years and when she does finally go out with another guy.. he is fantastic and charming and hot. So what does she do?? Falls right into the old guys arms when he offers. Not cool Zoey. Also I HATED how often baby was thrown out there. I don't know why it bothers me but everyone was calling everyone baby.

I understand what Lexi Blake was doing with the 2 boys. I have zero issues with love triangles, as long as they are done right and I just didn't like this one. I think because I really, really didn't like Daniel. He was manipulative, he lied, he kept secrets, he ignored her for years, he didn't want anything from her until she went on a date with someone else. And I did like Dev and I feel like he just got screwed in this book. I do NOT understand why he is into Zoey. It makes zero sense. She is kind of a bitch to him.

I will read the next book because the story behind the love relationships is interesting. But Zoey.. I don't know. meh. I really hated her.

A great start to the series.  They characters are AMAZING and their interactions are INCREDIBLE!  Does a great job of capturing the complexity of interpersonal relationships - both platonic and romantic - while going through an interesting storyline.  I can’t wait to read book 2!

I enjoyed this book even though it was rather stupid. Zoey has two hot guys lusting after her and I'm over here rolling my eyes as hard as I can.

The author doesn't seem capable of using a dictionary:
-“I’m not surprised,” my client replied, nonplussed.
-Dev was nonplussed. “Oh, I find it just makes me work all the harder. I haven’t heard any complaints yet. Certainly none recently.”

Nonplus
verb (used with object), nonplussed or nonplused, nonplussing or nonplusing.
1. to render utterly perplexed; puzzle completely.
noun
2. a state of utter perplexity.

The plot was exciting, though, so I've given it 3 stars just for that.
