I read the first book a few years ago. I bought it for my mom who is a knitter to read on vacation.
I have not read books #2-4 (I thought this title was the third in the series, not the fifth... oops!)
you don't need to have been along for the ride from the beginning to enjoy this book
the author provides enough background details on the relationships of the characters to make sense of it all
it's a pretty predictable plot - you know from the foreshadowing clues as the characters are introduced how it will all wrap up - with a happy ending of course
a fast, cute, chick read

I enjoy this author, although this wasn't my favorite in the series that I have read. The characters are wonderful and so is the small town living aspect, but i thought there were too many stories going on in this book, it seemed a bit too much all the different characters and their interactions. Storylines were predictable.

I never learn. I order books like this from series where I read the first couple of books, realized that I can't stand the author's style, and yet I continue to order from PBS or otherwise procure the following books. I have to learn to stop doing this. At least I didn't finish this overwrought pile of steaming crap. And it's going back on my PBS bookshelf once I have some cash for shipping.

I listened to this as an audiobook, and will never choose another book read by Delilah. Her sentences were broken - breathing was done at the wrong spot, I think. It was irritating throughout.
The book itself was too much fluff for my taste. Lots of telling, this happened, that happened. Idyllic setting, too good to be true characters, everything wrapped up in a nice, neat bow. None of the characters appealed to me, largely because they seemed one dimensional. Part of the problem may have been that it was an ensemble cast - essentially several stories being told in the same book, all connected by Blossom Street. I get it - this is a series. But it didn't work for me.

Very pleasant poolside reading. I love Debbie Macomber for a nice plot line and a happy ending.

This is such a touching story. Debbie Macomber is so good at weaving multiple touching stories together.
This book is about so many things. It's about wanting a baby when you know you can't have one. About wanting to adopt a baby and the knowing the chances are slim that will happen. It is about being a foster child that isn't wanted and gets thrust from home to home and feeling like you have no place anywhere. It is also about a young girl that dreamed of meeting her father when she didn't even know his name. It is also about chocolate but you'll have to read the book to figure out how that ties in.
Lydia, who owns the yarn store on Blossom street, decides to have another knitting class called "knit to quit". One person is trying to quit smoking, one is trying to quit stress, and one is trying to quit a man.
I love every book I've read in the Blossom Street Series. Every book I read just makes me love it more.
