Perhaps a bit sappy and overly sugary...but I can appreciate that. It was slow at first but half way through I got sucked in. Cute. Makes me wanna learn to Knit :)

I have no Macomber - again, a book about nice people doing nice things - however this was the audio version and it was read by Delilah of the sappy evening radio show. While her voice may be fine for reading, the woman couldn't help chuckling at odd bits of sounding overly pleased with sappy parts, and it just made it seem...goofy.

Another great addition to Blossom Street. Was glad to see old "friends" and meet some new ones.

Blossom Street might be my favorite Debbie Macomber series yet. I loved the first one I read (A Good Yarn), and this one got me a little emotional at the end! These are the only two that I have in this series but they’re so great I think I’m adding the rest to my “want to read” list! This one has just the most perfect little ending

Reading this series is like sitting down with old friends and having a cozy chat over a cup of tea. Debbie Macomber has created some lovely characters that I've really enjoyed getting to know. Lydia Goetz owns "A Good Yarn", a knitting shop on Blossom Street. She designs a new course for her customers: "Knit to Quit"- the idea is that learning to knit might help people break bad habits. Phoebe joins the class, hoping to have some time to herself to heal from the breakup of her relationship just months before she was due to get married. Alix is now married to Jordan, but the stress of her recent wedding and financial pressure have lead to her taking up smoking again. She joins the class to quit smoking. And Bryan (Hutch) joins because his doctor has said he needs to take up some hobbies and relax or he will work his way to an early grave. Really lovely book and I'm looking forward to reading more in this series.

Lydia Goetz, owner of A Good Yarn is back for more fun and adventures. She is joined by some old as well as some new friends. So sit back, relax, and enjoy Summer on Blossom Street.
Phoebe Rylander works as a physical therapist at Madison Avenue Physical Therapy. While out for a walk, she finds herself on Blossom Street and in front of A Good Yarn. She spots in the store window a sign advertising a knitting class called Knit to Quit. Phoebe signs up for the class. The knitting class will be the perfect distraction for her to get her mind off her ex-fiance and her broken engagement.
Alix and her husband Jordan are finally ready to start a family but first Alix needs to quit smoking. Alix decides to sign up for Knit to Quit as she has something to quit.
Bryan Hutchinson has taken over his family's chocolate company. Between all of the responsibilities of running a company and the lawsuit, it is no wonder he is under a lot of stress. Bryan's physician suggests that he take up knitting.
Anne Marie Roche and her adopted daughter, Ellen have just returned home from a trip to Paris. They are barely unpacked before a mysterious man comes around asking about Ellen.
Finally there is Lydia. She, her husband, and their son Cody have taken in twelve year old girl named Casey. Casey was only suppose to be with them for a few days. Now Lydia and her family have to find a way to bring harmony to their lives. It won't be easy as Casey has the biggest chip on her shoulder.
Debbie Macomber's latest Summer on Blossom Street is the perfect way to start out my summer. I instantly felt welcomed like I was part of the group on Blossom Street. The only other series where I felt the same way is Robyn Carr's Virgin River series. Debbie Macomber is in good company. What I enjoyed about this book is that all of the characters from the previous novels were back as well as the fact that I was introduced to new ones as well. So if you are wanting the perfect summer, where you can hang out with good friends then pick up a copy of Summer on Blossom Street today. You won't be sorry.

I know that Macomber is one of the most popular authors in the United States if not the world. Her website says she has sold over 200 million copies of her books. I know that my local library buys at least ten copies of every title she publishes. However, until this summer, I had never read one of her novels. I always figured that I had read enough reviews to have the gist of her stories.
When we were at the beach, my daughter picked up this book and finished it in a day. She said that it was good which was enough endorsement for me.
I did have a good time reading about Macomber's little town and the people in it. I can see why so many people read these tales. It was a great beach book.

This is a typical Macomber: a fast, easy read, the characters are easy to follow, and everything ends happily. Is it true to life? Probably not- but it makes you feel good- and sometimes, that's what's important. Characters from the first and second novels in the Blossom Street series show up in here, and it's nice to see how their relationships are progressing from the previous novels. I will most definitely read the next book! It's very hard to put these down...
