OMG. Why was I sleeping on this AUTHOR!

The Last Guests is a compelling, sinister thriller that has you guessing left, right, and center!

From chapter one, your skin starts tingling at the unique setting of the book where you have someone setting up PEEPHOLE CAMERAS in an AIR BNB. NEED I SAY MORE!

I could not put this down. The twists that turn and interweave, created a web of thoughts and theories and thickened the plot as we delved deeper into the book. My attention was captivated, and I did not see the ending coming!!!

This was my first @jppomare book, and it's definitely not the last!

Well written and very suspenseful, with some great elements in play. The protagonist has backed herself into a corner with a secret that could ruin her marriage. But the longer she goes without coming clean, the worse it gets. Unfortunately, the resolution didn't hold water for a couple of major reasons. Too bad -- it took a potential 5-star read down to about 3-1/2, rounded up because it was a lot of fun getting there.

Hoo boy! I’ve been all set to go to the launch of this book twice now so thought I must read it before we try for round three. Pomare is very good at conjuring tension and leaving the reader with a pervasive sense of dread and unease. If you like your thrillers scary and a little stressful then this is definitely for you. The pacing here is wonderful, something so many thrillers and novels in general muck up. Pomare is a master of unexpected twists and turns. Cain and Lina have their secrets and their struggles and the way these are untangled shows a clever web of plot, character and storytelling. The heart of this book is questioning the lengths any of us would go to in order to protect our families. This has strong Top of the Lake vibes.

Good start but very slow going.
We have Lina, a wife, that decides she wants to have a one night stand with a random guy and she does. However, things go sideways in a flash once the random guy who was supposed to become part of the past, keeps showing up, texting and emailing her. Things escalate, not quickly, once we find out the real reason why Lina chose to have an extramarital relationship.

The ending could have come sooner, as a lot of things were drugged on for far too long.
